MWEB - SEACOM UPDATE

If I am not mistaken then this is the third time in the last two months that the Seacom Cable has gone down to some or other reason. It sound like this is a rather undependable solution.

What I would like to know is what is MWeb doing to ensure that their customers is receiving the service they are paying for? I understand that this is not your fault, but Seacom's fault, but unfortunately I do not have a business relation with Seacom, but I do have a business relation with MWeb.

No mention of any faults here : http://www.seacom.mu/news/news.asp

This is what is concerning many. Is this just an excuse being used by MWeb?

Wait a second though you are saying we are not getting what we pay for right? Since this problem i have had full international access and nzb's along with torrents have been dead.

Http is perfect, apart from the pirate protocols do you guys have any internet access?

Brightspark, peer 2 peer are not pirate protocols many applications make use of this type of connectivity. Calling it pirate protocols is pretty stupid. Because by that logic http is also pirate protocol

Dude i think we know what pirate protocols are and are not, i hear your point and i understand a tiny portion of people using torrents are downloading legit stuff but i think when i say pirate protocols people know what they are :D

So my questions remains but i will rephrase it:

Does everyone have international access apart from torrents and nzb's? Everything on my side has been working apart from nzb's and torrents.

I can browse and thats about it.

Rapidshare has been severely limited since Saturday and now seems to have gone down totally - while others like netload etc. seem OKish.
All of these work on port 80 so I can only assume that the fault is affecting certain areas or links(i.e Rapidshare which afaik is hosted in the states).
I'm sure they will fix it soon, personally I am not going to drop dead if my uncapped 4meg gets a little forced break, I've had a fair bit of usage this month =)

Dude its got nothing todo with shaping or throttling i dont mind that, its the ZERO feedback these people are giving us. thats pissing me off.

Zero feedback? They have been telling us their is a problem since it happened?

I doubt they need to go into technical detail, there is a problem they are working on it is about all the info they need to give us. Zero feedback is somewhat harsh in my opinion

Excuse me, that was Friday we've heard nothing since, sorry but thats zero feedback to me. When my hosting provider go's down i get feedback like literally every 4 hours to whats happening. its Zero feed back period. There pathetic facebook page is just client liaisons spewing templated responses to the masses. Hardly anything worthwhile, im pretty sure Rudi's account is not even him.

my torrents are completely dead too...http is maxing out. Would be nice if some feedback is given but don't get me wrong I'm not complaining. My pc is getting a good break for a change. I suppose sending a mail to their technical department hasn't worked for you guys either :(
