MWEB - SEACOM UPDATE

I dont mind as much torrents getting shaped in times of trouble but I could barely connect to Battlefield bad company 2 at all yesterday.

Got terrible speeds on my torrents the whole weekend. Quite sad.

Zero feedback? They have been telling us their is a problem since it happened?

I doubt they need to go into technical detail, there is a problem they are working on it is about all the info they need to give us. Zero feedback is somewhat harsh in my opinion

No, I am sorry. If this was the first time that this happened and it is fixed within a few hours, then yes one we-are-working-on-it post would have been enough. But that post is now three days old, the problem persist and this is the third time in two month there has been an outage.

They not keeping us informed, the are stonewalling us.

Qwik that is odd dude, i played so much bfbfc2 this weekend with no problems. Qwik are you in BUD?

Well i am not worried about nzb's and torrents not working for a few days, as long as i can use the internet like i have been for the last few days then all is good i guess.

Torrents have been fooked for a while now for me, but over the weekend http was maxing...Internet in general seems a lot slower than normal this morning for me, is that only me..? Even mybb took a fair while to load.

browsing seems fine but everything else is buggered (even this past weekend) http dowloads were inconsistant and only maxing at certain intervals.

torrents are non existant at 0.1kbps :( something is seriously wrong somewere ! mweb need to communicate to us whats going on because i have doubts that it is a seacom issue.

either way it needs to get fixed like now! i doubt very much that afrihost is this bad EVEN with their FUP policy !

We all know there is an issue, I just need to know what it is and how long it will continue for. Without a definate answer before month end I will be leaving for cheaper waters. I see no reason to pay MWEB more money for the same crap service everyone else gets.
I understand shaping, but when you download from Microsoft and you max out at 10kbps something is wrong.
HTTP and other downloads are affected and MWEB cannot seem to fix it. Third party my arse, this is an "Oh Fook" we over-sold our service and cannot meet demand.
As for torrents, and here I must laugh, 0.3kps at 1am is a joke.

What is the actual problem now? Is it still seacom? or is MWEB the one with the problem ?
When will it beback to normal?

Look it worked some of the time. Sometimes I got disconnected at the server browser.

I'm only running a 512line though. Not 4meg.

My downloads used to be +/- 400KB/s, now I get under 50 KB/s

When they seacom down do they mean the entire network? do they put up faults related to say mweb. So if just mweb is experiencing an outage due to something would they put up something like:

Peering connection to mweb SA is experiencing problems. Please note my example is just that and i have no technical understanding of any of this :D.

Well cancel guys. Obviously mweb is nothing but a lying thieving company so cancel with them, plenty of uncapped options available to you from many different companies.

I will stick it and see how it goes for another couple months before i decide without actually being 100% sure that mweb have done anything wrong.

Mate, this isn't about cancelling or riling myself up until I froth at the mouth, collapse and bleed out. No, see thing is I value a company that can be open and transparent with me... they can change their terms or service, shaping policy, underpants or whatever as often as they like. However, when I ask an honest question like, "Is SEACOM really down, or is MWEB having a problem?" then I don't expect to be lied to, especially at the integrity of another company upon whom so many other companies are dependent. I could care less about whether MWEB has made a bugger up or not, I do care when they "do something wrong" like lie. Blatantly.

EDIT: Oh, and I can be cross without cancelling.
