Wynberg exchange is very wonky these days - the last month has been terrible. Anyone up for firebombing it?

Yeah I'm leaning towards congestion but these aren't erratic and they don't happen during peak time they happen from 23:00 to 07:00 in the morning like clockwork never changing the last month. P2P runs full speeds during these times and aren't effected by it

A reading I took earlier this week at 03:00 in the morning showed 1600ms on the second hop and upwards from there. Those are NOT peak times and at 07:00 it dispersers like a bad dream no explanation......Gremlins make more sense than congestion witch is there default answer

Good Morning, the tracers you've provided to show the latency increase on the second hop. This normally indicates that the problem is closer to the remote end, congestion at the exchange is definitely a possibility.

Getting terrible spikes while gaming playing DOTA 2. Only one on servers to be spiking so severely. Ping goes from 30ms to 1250ms. As MWEB is the one hosting the servers (for South Africa) I find that should be the least likely issue. However, it's been a ****ty connection for the past days doing this. Streaming, downloads, etc. all stuttering and under-performing severely.

Please advise on what needs to be done to resolve/show issues.

Good Morning Nosotros, please provide me your MWEB account details via private messaging.

How do we go about trying to get an exchange sorted out? I already tried reporting a line fault at the exchange but the telkom techs are beyond useless. Is it just a matter of waiting for them to upgrade the exchange? Is there any way to speed up the process? 1000ms+ at the exchange is no joke for an online gamer!

Good Day StevenC, the more clients that complain that are linked to the query the better. Telkom tend to resolve this issue quicker if everyone connecting that that exchange logs line faults and follows up on it constantly.

A tech is at the exchange now lets see what his doing.....Bug the crap out of Telkom until they do something
I ran a test this morning at 4:00 again and it jumped to this

I feel for the guys on the crappy exchange, I've been there before and it took a lot of pestering some higher ups for a couple weeks before it got sorted. Hang in there and phone and email anyone and everyone you can.

Is it me or are the YouTube issues starting again? I can't stream 480p without it freezing at the 2 second mark and then taking like 30 seconds to buffer the next 2 seconds?
We just get knobbed, no matter what you do or what ISP, it makes no difference and there is little you can do about it, despite the valiant efforts of reps like MWEBGuy

Currently downloading this at a blistering 25kb/s on my 4 mb line
http://www.faa.gov/regulations_policies/handbooks_manuals/aircraft/media/faa-h-8083-21A.pdf

edit: make that 10kb/s, going to bed to long to wait fora a 80mb file

My latency is awesome during the day but come the evenings it sucks. I think I need to capture a technician and ransom him off to Telskum.

I'm gonna give it a few more weeks and make a decision. Thought that I was have line issues because it's been losing sync every now and then. Last night I finally switch to my WA capped account and got full speed at whatever it synced at. Reaching the limit of what I can tolerate.

Telkom replaced all the cables and boxes between my house and the dslam this week (well the above ground stuff this week, the underground stuff the last few weeks) so everything should be nice and new and stable. Yet Mweb seems to be down again. What a waste.
