ya,same here from 23:00 it starts to run normal

Last Result:
Download Speed: 432 kbps (54 KB/sec transfer rate)

i am on 1mbps with 2mbps line

I wonder if its got to do with the way they throttle our service to 1mbps, I'm on a 2mbps line as well but using the 1mb uncapped. Maybe something broken there. Your down speed (54 KB/sec) is exactly the same as mine, which is about exactly half of the 1mbps service. and it never varies from that, so its not dynamic shaping or anything, its pretty much half all the time.

Anyway, I've PM'd my details to MwebGuy so lets see what they find...

Hi, please see the inbox message I have sent you.

I was quick to battle Mweb about slow speed. Turns out it took some complaining at Telkom to fix a problem between my house and the exchange. Took then over a week but it is better.

Is it frustrating to see Mweb slow on P2P. Yes. But I don't know of another service which would allow me to download / stream 200gb per month for the money I currently pay.

Over time I have learned to schedule downloads for after 11pm till 6 am and manage my needs...no, you don't need all 10 seasons of CSI tonight...

And to be perfectly honest, after a year of uncapped goodness, I see myself working with the internet differently. I listen to and watch podcasts/webcasts and Youtube. These things was just not affordable before on line speeds that made sense. But I don't do it on HD quality. There is the exception, like movie trailers, I just pause them and let them cache.

I do agree that high pings to gaming services sucks, but I have to weigh that vs the freedom of what I now have. So if the pings are bad I switch to Afrihost 1gb free account.

I think it is unrealistic to expect full speed 24hours of the day all the time. I have found their shaping (personally I think some protocalls are being treated at some times closer to throttling) to be OK. I can live with it. The high pings and sometimes slow load times of Facebook and Zynga games, I am not sure if it is a Mweb issue or Facebook/Zynga being overloaded.

I loved! to download and install Windows 8 through the web installer and then 400 mb's of patches and drivers afterwards. I would have blown more that 4 times my monthly bandwidth allowance under the capped system.

At present I believe Telkom is having a bigger impact on network speed than ISP's. Many exchanges are overloaded after the migrations. These will get better once they balance the load better. Welcome to growing pains of an ever improving infrastructure.

So I would like to extend a thank you to Mweb Guy which have helped me personally at least 3 times with an account reset or trouble shooting. And to Mweb for bringing and making uncapped internet not only affordable but also sustainable and acceptable.

For the love of God use news servers instead of peering, please, pretty please, it's not that difficult.

http://www.newsdemon.com/

7$ dollars a month you get the following.

Unlimited USENET
+ Secure VPN Account (Exclusive)
+ Unlimited Secure Online Storage
+ Free News Reader Software
+ 50 (256-Bit) SSL Connections

Totally worth it , stop using that torrents :P

Anyone else experiencing terrible speeds in PE from today ?

Newsservers not responding at all and my 10Mbps line reporting 3Mbps speeds on speedtest (to MWEB CPT and JHB) instead of the usual 7-8.

ADSL line is rock solid.

MWEB Guy - anything going on that we should be aware of ?

@mweb guy

BUT I finally found the combination that is causing it, or so far it seems to be.

Ingame vsync on.

Now I turned this on because I was getting stuttering as soon as I hold down lmb or rmb. However when I force vsync on from display driver it is fine and no DCs yet.

No don't eye wink at me, just stop posting and use news servers, ffs you noobs are bringing the networks down with your torrent k@k.

Yes don't ask MWEB to fix there over congested networks to maximize there profits. Use a alternative service like news servers
and once all the "Noobs" like this 12year old explains switches to News servers I'm sure MWEB will just let the additional strain to there network just slide.

Or maybe just maybe they'll see that's were the additional congestion is coming from and throttle "I mean dynamically shape" those ports instead.
Then you can come back here and "troll" about those people too. Either way your happy but the rest of the people are still being ignored when they ask for explanations to dynamic shaping and how 0k/s to 23:30 is shaping.

Youtube videos don't even load and supersport.com streaming is buffering all the time. My other ADSL accounts work 100%

It just after 11PM and my download (p2p) is coming down at 4.2k/sec MAX....Is this for real?

:twisted::mad:

I think this is when everyone is trying to P2P because it's blocked (I mean dynamically shaped) during the day. Switch ISP's if you want it to stop. I used MWEB cause it was cheap but checking the prices now there's better ISP's out there and the prices are the same.
