hmm, line maxing out at 6mbps on a capped account, but mweb account is only running at 2mb during the day :(
although cooked speedtest.net results always run 100%
looking at trying some of the other peoples green grass...

Hi dakhaas

I would like to do some troubleshooting with you. Please provide me with a speed test result when this happens and a speed test from http://www.mweb.co.za/helpcentre/MWEBSpeedTest.aspx

From there we can see why your Uncapped up to 4MB is only giving 2MB speeds because I can't find anything on your account which will limit you to 2MB

Is the 2MB speeds you getting perhaps a torrent download?

no, torrents baaaad, i know p2p is given a low priority on the network, only here to complain about legit stuff :)

testing with game patchers (some of them use random ports, this could be why??) others use port80 to patch, (busy trying to patch Defiance and Bf3)

I'll pm you screenshots of the mweb speedtests, although they say firewall found, but outbound NAt is allowing everything

Telkom been to my place three times but never up the pole.

Last night Telkom support (I phoned them) said the fault is with them.

It is so hard to get to the truth.

Browsing is currently sooo slow and unresponsive - is this because of maintenance Telkom are currently doing?

I saw mweb dropped their uncapped prices today on myBB. Will existing customers be automatically on the new price as of next month?

We have introduced new throttled products at a cheaper rate.

These are different to our premium products and therefore customers will not be automatically changed to the new products.
 
But the current packages are throttled as well. Soooo what's the difference?

I think Mweb needs to shed some light on these so called new products.
Their billing department is also not making this very clear as any pressing questions gets me referred to sales, then technical then billing.

I'm on a 1Mbps line with download speed of +- 800Kbps. I pay R488 for this. Does this mean I pay R150 p/m just so I'm not throttled?

I am sorry to hear that you will be cancelling, let me know if there is anything I can do to make you reconsider.

We will take it from the date that you have sent the cancellation form to us.

So if we only get to your mail on say the 3rd or 4th February, we will take February as your one month calendar notice.

My cancellation confirmation came through on 4 February. But I see there is now an Invoice for March on my statement. The way I understood you this was not supposed to happen?
