MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Hi there

I hope you can help me.

I have a 2Meg Uncapped Account (Billed I-ADSL-1024KU-M: ADSL Uncapped) and I expect to see speeds up around 160-180 kbps but sometimes I am lucky to get 20kbps. Late at night it might improve to 150kbps or so, but it is very rare.

I know there is throttling happening, but to me this is ludicrous.

So, would I get better and more reliable speeds if I changed to a Capped account?

Please help me! So all was fine then suddenly my internet died. Nothing new so I just reboot the modem. Now i have the following message on that glorious landing page.
'Unregistered ADSL Line - Errot 605' you are attempting to connect from an unregistered adsl line'
I'm lost? Reset the modem 3 times. Setup details correctly . I checked a thread from a while back and tried everything. Reset cachr in my browser too and tried all browsers- no luck. The dsl light on the modem is solid and internet light too. I don't understand whats gone on. Do I need to pm MwebGuy to help

I would like to put in a good word about your colleague Mr M du Plessis' exceptional level of service, competency, and caring way of dealing with clients.

MWEB really does provide phenomenal support, and I would love it if you can extend this to the upper levels. The man really deserves to go far.

So I've been testing with mweb yesterday - as tomorrow is the last day I'm with them.

Just a heads up for anyone who wants to torrent with uncapped. Use a local vpn or international. Your choice. So far, I haven't been below max speed during peak. At least they saved me 40gb of cap on my vox accounts.

And again, please :) Same situation, everything else works brilliantly, can stream HD youtube etc.... just can't login into an MMO game.

Or just torrent after hours, non issue for most people.

Have you tried changing domains? i.e. @mweb.co.za to @dslmweb.co.za.
 
Just received my first MWEB Connect Acceptable Usage Policy letter on the 31 August, after installing all my new games from Steam on my new Desktop, and I was just wondering whether the warning would expire since a new month has started?

Youtube, Facebook and Google searching working at a snails pace.

P.S. I always give it 30 mins or so to see if it's gonna fix itself before posting here. It usually does, but on the other occasions, posting here really does seem to work. (the irony of this error message....)

Hi Workerdroid7, is it safe to assume that you're sorted then? :) If not, please give PostmanPot's advice a shot. I've re-auth'd your account in the interim as well, so it may be best to reboot for 3-5 minutes before testing.

Yes, thing began to work again a few minutes after I edited my post, and it must be said... it worked brilliantly.

I do want to add.... despite my intermittent issues, Mweb's ability to provide quality gaming is not in question. 95% of the time, it's awesome. 5% of the time, I cannot login. There is nothing in between.
 
Sigh.... must be that time of night again. Can you "re-auth" my account again, please Mweb Guy?

Edit: for 5 mins, it all worked properly again... then, it stopped working.

Edit again: this is the second night in a row that playing during "prime gaming hours" (7-9pm) was not possible. Last night my wife was kind enough to let me play late. Tonight, my gaming was brought to an end 7 minutes after I was finally able to login. Is this "prime time no play" going to be a thing going forward? If so, I really don't care how good the gaming is when it IS possible.....

Hi Workerdroid7, if issues are only related to Gaming , I'd suggest that you rather raise your concerns with our Gaming admin over here: http://forums.mweb.co.za/ instead, so that they can investigate further and provide a more permanent solution.

Thank you for the link. Ironically enough, the very first post I saw on that forum was from a guy playing the same MMO as me having exactly the same issue.
