@MWEBGuy, I'd like to highlight my ADSL line issues mentioned below: can you please assist with getting Telkom to look at this? It's an intermittent fault, so for them to test the line when it's working won't help, any ideas?

ADSL Usage - (September, 2013)
You have used 57.33 GB so far this month.
Last Session: 17 September, 2013, 08:49:22
Connection status: Unthrottled

But my download speed was consistently stuck at 100-120kbps last night?

Also, my line has been having ADSL Disconnect issues (1-2 times an hour, last for about 5-30sec each time). This has been happening since the start of this month. No problems on the analogue phone line.

Telkom technician did mention something to this effect, when they changed my line over from the GDMT to the ADSL2+ card at my exchange. He said most customers didn't notice the issues, but others do. Could you please assist in getting the DSL disconnect issue investigated?

Max possible data rate on GDMT: 12Mbps
Max possible data rate on ADSL2+: 22Mbps

Evening X-Gamer

Thanks for the information. I will re-create the form in the meantime and take this up with Telkom as well.

Afternoon bekdik

Use your Internet network in a normal way; avoid mass downloading or streaming HD 24/7.

Know exactly who is using your Internet connection – if you have a WiFi network, make sure that it’s secure.

FOR FAAKS SAKE! IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What-are the internet for? I am sure all your stupid CEO/CFO's and any other drolle have no kids where some other families are extended.

Freaking *********s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi KingLv

I had a look into your account and it shows the speed limit can be lifted in approximately 2 - 3 days depending on your usage patterns.

I wish I could bust a cap in MWeb's a**. MWeb and other ISP's will learn some major lessons by the mass exodus away from MWeb. I'd be sharpening my CV if I was employed by MWeb, can't see how they'll retain key staff with no clients!
After 3 days, my line is unthrottled - sorry, too late!

What would my usage pattern have to look like?

Also are you saying that it will automatically change to normal or will i have to contact mweb?

Quick quezzi MWEB Guy, If 3% of the uncapped users are "abusers" could you quantify that for us? How many users are there signed up to the various uncapped offerings?

Lets see, in 2010 it was reported that MWEB had 320,000 subscribers which 70,000 were uncapped subscribers. So roughly 22% of your network is based on uncapped users? Using this as a base, roughly 2100 people are abusing the network? Why is it not easier to just discontinue those "abusers" services? Something is not adding up?

Afternoon SirFooK'nG, unfortunately I don't know exactly how many users are on our network at them moment.

Thanks for the quick response, Telkom technician couldn't find an issue with the line this morning, he's escalated the query. I did not notice the issue after you recreated the port last night, but I'll be able to monitor it when I get home this evening.

Interested to know which ISP would endorse this. +/- 1Mb/s 24/7?
None, but they don't need to, its impossible to watch streaming video 24/7, most people would do a few hours a day which in my mind is completely fine and should not result in throttling.
