Well im trying to do that. Unfortunately I have my line with them as well.

Why cant I get a call from someone over there. And by the time I put the phone down. I don't have to worry about it again. Have sent emails to them and I get responces that are half what I asked for and the other half not. I just want to sort it out in 1 phone call . Its nearing the end of this month, I can see they are going to pull me into paying something for November :(

PM MWEBGUY for the line migration form. Just complete the form and fax it using the number provided on the form. ALWAYS LEAVE YOUR LINE WITH TELKOM.

Spoke to someone at Mweb just now. Was helpful. Emailed me the " Moving premises form " Filled it in and emailed it back to moving@mweb.com. Don't have a fax unfortunately. Ill see how long it takes.

But what gets me. Why is it I have to wait 3-4 day for a response from an email I send to them. You cannot tell me they are that busy that I must wait so long for a response.

Mweb's like the ANC.

First they fought for freedom, and succeeded. Now they're just screwing the people and lining their pockets.

Cancelling mw, cancelled dstv, drifta. No more business from me - just one account yes? Thats your downfall ... assumption b1tch!
Somehow it passed over their heads just how influencial these IT guys (and those familar with interwebs, etc) actually are, to friends, family, associates, businesses. They really F^cked with the wrong crowd especially given that we batted for you and got u business in the past. Guess what mofos?

Btw : nearly 100gb this month with throttling. 2tbz over 12 mo on 1mb uncapped. Bwooohahahaha

Yep. The idiots never realised that most or all of the people that frequent this forum usually ends up advising their friends and family on what to do regards to Internet. That could add up to quiet a few members lost. Word of mouth is a b@stid as they will find out and and a very strong advert as Afrihost can advise them to. But that is what they wanted, less customers and more money. Unfortunately the MDweep idiots also forgot to calculate and the other ISP's caught up and most even surpassed their offers a while ago so this was just the final straw that cracked the camels back. I never felt like changing as they used to be good until a few months ago and other offers was not that much different. Mweb started throttling a long time ago, since the MDweeps started to "refresh" the accounts. They just lied to everybody about the situation since then. The recent finality is where they just made the throttling worse and then "admitted" to it as it's in "Your best interest" and then recreated the new AUP.

I knew I had to jump as I have an extended family all enjoying what the Interwebz offers. Paying more for that right is just not on. So Feck Mweb and all their shareholders. Everything Naspers is out of my life.

Sadly for them from my side I already lost them a minimum of ten potential customer excluding those that I had advised to change who all subsequently cancelled and moved on to Afrihost.

Do the calcs MDweeps, many more cancellations is to come your way, You will have to enlarge that cancelations department for the foreseeable future of about a year at least.

I have just sent them a mail for legal and evidence purposes. I have clearly stated that the timing of the notice month and the start of the R29 capped package is the 1st Oct. Any costs arising out of a failure to adhere to this is for THEIR account. Should they start their arrogant cr*p I at least have evidence to tell them to get stuffed.

What ever you do during the cancellation, do it on e mail and keep these for proof. MWEB are not ethical and their silly reference numbers are meaningless.

Oh, and you may want to send them mail to tell them NOT to take money out of your account AFTER the notice month, because sure as the sky is blue, they will take your money. You can then get really snotty with them and get some payback....:D

Well as to my non surprise . I haven't received any emails from them today. So it seems the standard 3-4 days response to when u email them is the normal there. I'm actually going to the bank tomorrow to cancel my debit order with them. They can inform me of what I owe and ill Eft it.

I don't want any surprises out of my account and them telling me they will refund me the difference in 2-3 weeks like the last time it happened.

Rudi left MWEB at the end of February last year and the article was published in September last year.

Of course the new broom continued his good work, I mean now we have throttling how 2013 of Derek. We should award him isp maker of the year.

So according to this:
http://mybroadband.co.za/news/adsl/87421-new-telkom-adsl-speeds-and-prices.html
1MB package prices will now be 2MB packages, and 2MB will be 4MB, from telkom correct?
Any word from MWEB Guy about whether MWEB will be upgrading 1MB and 2MB customers to faster speeds? and at what charge? before I look at changing?

Hi Chiller89,

We have been made aware of the proposed Telkom line upgrades in the near future and we will be passing this info to our products team. As soon as we know we will share the news with our clients.

When the upcoming TELKOM adsl speed upgrades are completed, the new revised mythical limit will choke all of you MWEB customers aka potential abusers to death much faster.

Exactly, you can travel back in time to pre dial up times even faster.

In other news: sales of 56k modems had gone up.
I was thinking of creating a box you connect to your ADSL line and when you get throttled it plays the dial up sound everytime you use your internet. I was gonna call it the big black box 2.0 and market it solely to mweb customers, maybe set up a small stall outside the mweb stores.

You could have the authentic dial up experience and you wouldn't have to check the client zone every few hours. Should probably patent it before mweb offers it as an add on for R49 per month.

Makes sense: Bolt on throttling.

Since the throttling is a mystery no one knows except Derek, might as well start calling it the black box.
