Good Afternoon,

The trace route to bbc.co.uk show's a huge jump in latency on the 2nd hope. Which means that your problem may be closer to the remote end.

Do you perhaps have the details to the Telkom guest account? We require comparative speed test results.

hey Mweb guy todays my second day using mweb 1mb uncapped adsl and my speeds are terrible. i get between 30 - 50kbs all the time and maybe once in a while 60 - 70kbs. why is my speeds so slow??

Whoops, looks like you used too much on your first day and they are enforcing throttling on their 1 day rolling window period. Good luck :)

MWEB throttling won't change ADSL line speed. It looks more like your line is not syncing at 1Mbps. I'd phone Telkom ADSL Support Centre on 10210 and find out why.

I need to have a way of monitoring and managing my likelihood of being throttled and, in the event that I am throttled, to be able to determine how long this status is going to apply and what my alternatives are to avoid and/or rectify the situation.

Playing Russian Roulette with a paid for service is totally unacceptable.

I need to be able to properly manage things, not rely on some nebulous arbitrary level against which I cannot measure.

+1

Hi

Please drop me a PM with your account info and I will check it out from my side.

Dear Mweb,

I am reliant on my Internet access for many things and it would be totally unacceptable to suddenly, without warning, find myself to be throttled to the point of unusability, so I need to have a way of monitoring and managing my likelihood of being throttled and, in the event that I am throttled, to be able to determine how long this status is going to apply and what my alternatives are to avoid and/or rectify the situation.

You can always complain about this at the ISPA, ASA and CPA.

There's nothing stopping them from releasing the limits you should be keeping in to appease them BUT if they do this they know they can't change it as they like to always fit them and not you. All ISPs that had rolling windows had them defined and you should demand no less if you tend to stay with mweb.

We'll see how this rolls comes 1st sept and more wakes up...

anyone with a 4mb line struggling to watch sky sports 4.
Xbmc is buffering the **** out of the za vs arg game.

Dear MwebGuy - since your migration department does not want to answer phone-calls and your customer care department refuses to answer my emails and you have promised me since Friday to get to the bottom of it:

Why has been ADSL line still not been migrated back to Telkom? It was supposed to be 48 hours and is now 5 business days later - emails remain unanswered from Mweb.

Good Day, as per the information on your account; the account has already been moved to data only.

I tested the line and noticed that it is still with us though. I have escalated the query to the management of the team that deals with the moving of the line.

Busy compiling my cancellation mail to Mweb.

Dear Mweb, it's not me, it's you. Thanks for your "abuse" letter.
Kind Regards.

Kindly provide us these limits. You keep on saying keep withing the limits, but you forget to give us the limits.

If you need an example this might help:

Package: Uncapped 384kbps
6 hour limit in GB: 0.305
7 day limit in GB: 4.25

This will reset each 10 days.

ISPs that had rolling windows with clear limits: (Of course there is others who also had their limits clarified...)

Some of those "1.5TB" abusers:

IMHO I agree with DJ... and mweb should be boycotted as much as possible. They much like Microsoft with the xbox one wants you to just stomach it because it is good for you.
