MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Estimating your daily aveage here, 40gb in 15 days last month, just under 3GB daily, 75 this month, average 5, this is back to 4GB average a day, it could be more or less depending on the last 15 days of last moth (16 actually) but I don't have your daily breakdown so I can't tell 4 sure, but anhow its 120 GB or so nearly half of an unshaped account of 4x the price so I presume you did pretty well

I did about average 1.8gb a day in September (only 55gb, just saw my 84gb was in August)

Since there is no clear cut "this is the threshold" I'm not sure what is considered "abuse" or not when I get throttled. If you look at the last 12 months of usage, it averages to 61gb a month, which I think is quite fair to be honest. Since my speed is throttled to less than what an ISDN 64k line can give me, and mweb's own website loads so damn slow, I decided to go to Afrihost for a bit and try out Web Africa again as well.

AH would look t the last 12, mweb 30 days. sounds like you on standard bud

Hi mweb guy, can you please check if im being throttled? I am getting 0.53mbps download on a 2mb line. It works fine if i use a different ISP, please check, thanks.

Really???? Is this what MWEB customers need to ask their service provider?? It like nipping into the pub, ordering a beer and then asking if you will a get full pint, and whether you do or don't, you still pay for a pint..... :wtf:

Sorry to hear that you are throttled boet, hope you come right soon.

I doubt he is

Aaaah, social media is a strange and wonderful thing .......

MWEB blocked me from their facebook page. Obviously, my brutal honesty and continued support was not appreciated...

Tonight, I had quick look ... funny stuff ... theres whole bunch of new pi$$ed customers spamming them ...

MWEB - give up the throttling. Wish someone at MWEB had the ''nads to go to the CEO and tell him there is an ID 10 T error in his office.... really.

A question

Did Mweb ever officially announce this throttling policy.

I never received any formal communication, telling me If I abuse I am going to get throttled. If I was not member of Mybroadband I would never have even heard about this new unfair rule.

I am not on Facebook, as I don't believe in broadcasting my personal information.

now with the usage being shown for the 30 day rolling window....it would be interesting what usage is safe for the 4meg premium package?

Safe usage on an uncapped account... what is next?

There was a press release if I am not mistaken... That's how I found out.
I also did not received an email or any other correspondence from Mweb, yet I was a paying customer.

Very unprofessional from them I would say... I did not sign up with one of the most expensive ISP's so that I could police my "uncapped" internet package... Good riddance MWEB.

They might as well call it "soft capped" at this rate, but that's probably why we don't get the magical number. As soon as we do we can all cry havoc about it not being uncapped (which granted we are doing atm - with good reason). Shaping is one evil I can accept, but throttling and expecting users to measure usage on an uncapped product? Oh Mweb.

Nowhere on this Mweb page showing details of their 1Mb/s uncapped product does it mention that it is subject to a throttling regime based on a secret limit.

Got to love the "Gaming is prioritised on the Mweb network" then they throttle you for downloading games on steam err really.

Morning, we both know you did not just download gaming traffic the past 30 days.

Clients seldom move 100gigs worth of games on a 1MB account.

We do throttle on total usage used over a 30 day rolling window. The usage includes gaming traffic.

However when you are not throttled, your gaming experience is outstanding. :p

I sent through my cancellation form on Monday morning and received a "Sorry to see you go blah blah blah" email with a reference number.

Is this all I need to ensure that my mweb account will be cancelled at the end of November, or do I need to hound them for more communication/information to ensure that my account gets cancelled as mentioned above?
