MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Why didnt mweb just give out the details for their throttling policy in the first place? Did they not think that users would not find out after a month or two what the limits were for a 30 day rolling window? I mean, everyone who uses mybroadband and has half a brain cell would figure out that over 30 days you cant exceed 3.3GB a day or 100GB every 30days...Honestly, in this day and age you think hiding info would not come back to bite you in the rear? We all implicitly know the limits, yet you wont even officially admit it. Big disconnect between customer and company then. Your service is great mweb, but your image is tarnished. I wont leave just yet, but being on MWEB has already cost me R50 more in buying a retail game instead of getting it digitally for FEAR (something you dont want to instill in a customer) of getting throttled and not being able to play said game when the DL is finished.

I was never throttled, but could not afford to work with a loaded gun pointed at my head, so I've left for other pastures. I don't play roulette with what is to me an essential service.

My speed today ... not throttled as you will see:)

And the reason for that is not because I managed my downloads over a 30 day rolling window, and not that I upgraded my account to business package, or even that I logged into MYADSL and checked my account status ......

Its because I AM NOT AN MWEB CUSTOMER!! :D:D:D

So Telkom has released their pricing for data and bundle offers... MWEB Response is more than likely going to be... And if this is the case I feel sorry for them because then more people will leave to Telkom.. And not because they throttle but because they are better priced

Standard 2mbps: R239 old price - R199 new price

Premium 2mbps: R369 old price - R369 new price

Standard 4mbps: R359 old price - R239 new price

Premium 4mbps: R539 old price - R539 new price

Any clarity for us MWEB Guy? Am I just picking at straws?

Hi BluntMalunt

Our Product team are working hard in lure of Telkom’s recent announcements, we will be responding to it very soon.

Watch this space ;-)

Mweb Guy, my issue is sorted, but a new one popped up now...

Usage in the past month was 67GB and I was on the 4mbps premium package. Now I've downgraded to the 2mbps package.

Now I am throttled.

Wil 67GB usage in a month get me throttled every month? 67GB?

Please let me know if that is the case so I can change ISP.

Hi an3s

You downgraded to the Standard up to 2MB package.

67GB should be fine with an up to 2MB Premium package.

I shall do so thank you MWEB Guy :) Really hoping you guys drop 2mbps Premium to R199 but that is a big wish...

I think I am one of the few forumites that have stayed with MWEB throughout everything and I think for the rest of us that have stayed, that this will be the defining moment.

MWEB +1? MWEB -1?

Only time will tell

@ MWEB Guy

I would like to ask - I was in Canal Walk the other day to purchase a copy of BF4 from BT games and one of the guys there said that MWEB is installing Wi-Fi throughout the mall - Is that true?

Hey Mweb Guy just a quick question, will 1Mbs premium customers be upgraded to a 2Mbs premium account or a normal 2Mbs account?

Hi BluntMalunt

I know that N1 City Mall and Protea Glen Mall have free MWEB Wifi, will have to check for you if Canal Walk is in the pipeline :-)

Will also check if the free Wifi has ended or extended.

i must say that the wifi is insanely fast , speedtest around 11mps up and down , youtube does not the word buffer when i use it :P

n1 city's wifi.

Hi 325i

If you are asking this in line with the Telkom speed upgrades then we will design different packages for customers to change over to. I don't see us giving customers, who is on a 1MB premium the only option of going to Standard.

Please keep an eye on our products and pricing page for any new ADSL products.

So THATS why I was throttled .... damn ... in ''lure'' of this N1 FREE Wi-Fi .... :) And KZN is not included or the Vrystaat?? :)

You misunderstand.

I had and paid for the 4mbps package for october. Now my data usage for october is rated on my current 2mbps package and not the package I used in October. This is unfair and I expect the throttling to be lifted immediately.
