MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

Mweb Guy - could you look into and provide an answer as to why Mweb is blocking news servers? Just tested it myself and it works on all accounts except Mweb.

Hi Mephisto_Helix

I have tested the news server and i am able to connect and download.

Placed my order on Friday as soon as I got the e-mail, and it arrived this morning! Very happy!

I am testing it out at the moment and no problems with the extender so far.

It will be interesting to see if my FON connection works in Caledon in the WC - I have to visit my Mom next week and was really fretting her terrible wifi.

Sorry, I meant to add international in that sentence. Xennanews in particular works on anything except Mweb.

Are you sure about that, I saw on multiple sites that Xennanews is down and out, on the other hand the MWEB server is now asking me for a username and password.

Excellent, please keep testing and if there is any feedback you wish to bring to our attention then feel free to let me know.

Read today that it was working on non Mweb accounts so I tested it ...... true.

Err...the WPS light on the router and on the extender is off now, but the WLAN light on the extender is on and the signal is strong - what does that mean? (excuse my ignorance)

Then why can't I dial another account from my PC.

Ah ok didn't realize you were doing the dailing from your PC, not too sure if you put the router in bridge mode you would probably be able to connect from your pc but the wifi link won't be connected to the internet IMHO not 100% sure about that one.

Putting the Technicolor router in bridged mode only would turn it into a modem and void the whole FON concept. Did you look for something called half-bridge mode?
