Currently I can get 3.5 mbps with both TI and the MWEB trail account, so at least the quality of the network is good here.

Last question, what is the threshold for a standard uncapped 4mb account? I use about 60-80 gb per month, and i'm just wondering if the premium account would be better for that amount of downloading.

The 4MB Standard threshold is in the region of 110GB on a 30 rolling window.
 
Any news on if the print server is actually disabled by the MWEB firmware, and if not how do you get it to work?

If it is not being blocked and not working then it becomes a peripheral setup to ADSL.

This is due to your line syncing on 4Mb due to the telkom line speed upgrades.

If you wish to take advantage of the new pricing then you will need to inform us that you wish to stay on the 2mb all inclusive product then we will move your line back down to 2Mb
 
Hello.

I'm planning to switch to MWEB Uncapped as soon as my Telkom account is canceled.

I just have a few questions.

1. Whats the difference between Uncapped and Premium Uncapped accounts?
2. Is the 4mb trail account an image of the Uncapped or Premium Uncapped account?
3. Is online gaming traffic prioritized on both the uncapped and Premium Uncapped packages?
4. Will a 2mb Premium Uncapped perform better then a 4mb Uncapped account during the day (from 7AM to 4pm)?

I just spoke to them and they cancelled my account immediately... You just have to insist that you are paying for a useless service and maybe mention CPA once or twice!

The Premium accounts are not being upgraded by us for free, the Standard packages are getting an automatic upgrade.

Chris is referring to when you said that premium accounts weren't being upgraded because Telkom had still not cut the IPC costs and it was unfeasible financially for you to do free upgrades at that time. Perfectly reasonable. Yesterday Telkom cut IPC charges by 15%. Any news?

My statement for February still shows that I'm paying R599 for the 2MB-AI-uncapped. No mention of the 4mbps line which I've had since November.

How do we ensure that we are kept on the 2mbps package?

EDIT: Or rather, when will Mweb contact their customers giving us the option of choosing 2mbps or 4mbps AI uncapped?
With the recent Telkom IPC price cuts, I expect the R769 price on 4mbps to be reduced as well.

With the latest IPC cost cut, why not dropping the throttling policy? If you do, I will come back in a heartbeat :D

Hey Guys, I don't think we will be dropping throttling.

We may possibly increase thresholds or decrease pricing. This will be decided in the new future, as to how we will proceed.
