MWEB Uncapped ADSL Feedback - Part 3

I have a 4mb Business uncapped Account from Mweb. Normally during the day i would only get about 40kb/sec downloading torrents, which is fine as i dont expect it to work fast. Then from 11pm the speed starts to pick up.. Over the past week i have 0kb/sec during day and as of writing this at 11:55pm.. no torrent activity yet. I bet at exactly 12am i will get activity.. Thats not due to heavy usage or throttling.. its blatant blocking of certain ports??? WTF How about Mweb actually making a public statement on what exactly they will allow and during which time periods.. therefore i can make an informed decision on whether i want to stay with them as a client.

update : my prediction came true.. 12am and torrent activity starts

Ok MWEB Guy. The techies had to recreate my account, and it is now behaving on par with telkom guest account. I asked them to keep the ticket open as I will monitor it till Monday. Please advise why the capped accounts must use the @mweb.co.za domain and the "uncapped" accounts @dslmweb.co.za.

Hi Lord Fury

Thanks for the feedback, I have since replied to your FB post.

Hi

AFAIK, both realms should work for either the capped account or uncapped account.
I will ask the team to check it out and provide you with feedback when they contact you again.

Ok, thanks. That is what I thought as well, but the guy was quite emphatic about it. They do perform differently though.

Experiencing multiple disconnects here in Durban, Westville. International and local are fine. Speeds are perfect. Just seem to be disconnecting every 10-15 minutes.

Hi Mweb guy my 10mb line is at a pathetic 7KB/s snails pace. Wtf is going on? Please advise

Hi Wolfy

Your account is not being speed limited. This can also be viewed via My Account on our webpage.

Your account looks fine. Please provide actual tests done in order for me to advise further.

Could you please also elaborate on the speeds you are referring to as this will also help in getting to the bottom of your query.

Hi, my internet connection has been pretty shocking all day. Dropped, erratic connections and very slow speeds when it's working at all.

Any ideas from these traceroutes?

Hi Spizz

I would advise making contact with Telkom for them to look into your line readings and the tests you've done.

I have refreshed your MWEB account for you.

Thanks. So from the traceroutes it looks like it's their problem?
