Not sure if this is what you wanted. It bombed out waiting a few times - and then I could not get onto to mybroadband site for 20 minutes - kept timing out

Good MorningWasp_21, I have checked your account and your router has a steady connection since the 8th March. I assume the disconnects you are referring to is the download itself, I have changed a setting on your account. I have removed protected access, please reboot your router for 5 to 10 minutes and let me know if this improves your experience.

please add all performance benifits to my account to.

I am having sites just hanging, not loading, until I refresh them several times.

Any reason this might be happening?

Hi copacetic,

There should've be a reason for that happening. Have you closed the browser and tried again? Does it happen in another browser as well?

Kind regards,
MWEB Guy

On various computers, I'll test more thoroughly when I have a chance, and see what's up. Now, it's sleepy time. :D

News Server is up the creek again, pages timing out and I'm getting very frustrated with this tonight. #KThanksBaai

Never mind. Something was just being weird on my line. My error rate went boggy for a while and I couldn't sync for a bit. Sorted now.

This is exactly the same problem I am having - 3 different browsers

This has been happening to me too. It's super frustrating! In addition to websites hanging or not loading completely, I'm experiencing inconsistent speeds. Twice, I've been told my line speeds look fine and then the speeds did return to normal for a really short amount of time. But then they would just return to being shocking again.

HTTP downloading is either half of what I should be getting on a 4mb account and that is when its at its best... or it's a tiny fraction of the speed. I was testing it out earlier and I was downloading at under 20kb/s!

I'll contact Telkom in the morning. All I know is that I need this problem sorted soon!

Morning PerfectBlue,

Please let me know what the outcome is after your call to Telkom.

If the problem persists, please provide me with tracert, ping tests and screenshots of the HTTP DL speeds as it would help us in the investigation in cases like these.

I take it that you have tried rebooting the router, which usually resolves connectivity issues?

I have refreshed your MWEB account, so please power down for a few minutes and test thereafter.

What type of HTTP DL is it and does it only happen certain times of the day?

Hi MWEB Guy
Could you refresh my MWEB account to see if it helps my problems - which are the same as PerfectBlue?
Thanks

I would like to say thank you and apologise at the same time. After getting in touch with a Telkom agent, I was told that I was upgraded to a 10mbps exchange even though I was on a 4mbps exchange before. And she said that with that happening, my line might not support the exchange and I might be experiencing latency. So I asked if I could be brought down to a 4mbps exchange (because that's my current account with MWEB) and if that would improve speeds, and she assured me that I should be getting the same speeds I was getting before if I did that. So after going back to that, my browsing and download speeds are back to normal!

I'm impressed with the service by both MWEB and Telkom and would like to apologise to MWEB if I came across difficult at all. This past month has not been kind to me in terms of technology. 1 replaced power supply and 1 new monitor later, I was just not ready to be pulling my hair out over my internet connection.

Hanging pages, Google chat will not load in G+, some pages don't load fully...

What's going on?

This is getting pretty vexing.

*edit*

Apparently Telkom is working in our area, so I don't want to blame MWEB prematurely, but on the other hand, I tried a gig of data from another provider two days ago, and it was PERFECT.

Good Evening, have you received confirmation that Telkom is working in your area? Perhaps Telkom wasn't working in your area two days ago ;)
