Ok, seems the celebration was shortlived ..... from a low of 271 ping (first ever sub 300) in DDO over the whole weekend, we're back to 325 :/

Hi Mephisto_Helix,

I have refreshed you MWEB account. Please test after 30min but before doing so configure your routr with @dslmweb.co.za and see if there's any difference.

How is your browsing?

Regards,

MWEB Guy

Hey Mwebguy

Is there anyway to get hold of telkom without waiting for them to respond to my fault?

I can't even get onto the net now. Sending this off my phone.

Hi Bar_Rat,

I don't know of any other way than the normal 10210.

I checked on your account and see that an MWEB tech specialist call back has been arranged for between 17h30 & 18h00 this evening for you.

Regards,

MWEB Guy

Found out its a telkom fault but now been on the phone waiting for a consultant for 20mins now.

Its damn frustrating.

Edit: Called went dead after 20mins waiting. Wish telkom would sort out their service department.

Hey MWEB Guy,

I'm having some problems streaming HD and SD content, the SD stream is from the BBC iPlayer (XBMC addon) which streams directly from the BBC website. This seems to play for 2 minutes then buffers. The other stream (HD) from tvsector seems to do the same. Both HD and SD streams from Hulu also seem to buffer constantly, however using Netflix there is no buffering issues.

Are the above mentioned sites shaped and if so why?

Thanks,
scabs

Good Morning scabs, please provide me your MWEB account details. Also note that if you have a shaped account, all your traffic will be shaped.

So I wake up this morning to find Telkom has so generously converted my 4Mbps line into a 512kbps, aren't they just awesome. So maybe this is what happened to you Mr. Bar_Rat. Sad thing is this isn't the first time they have done this and the last time it took a month to sort out because they couldn't understand the difference between 'not working' and 'working but connecting at wrong speed'.

Hi

Who do I need to speak to in order to get a mweb uncapped trial account to test out?

Hi DeadPool,

I can arrange for a sales consultant to contact you. Please PM me your contact details.

Regards,

MWEB Guy

Well im on the phone with them now and they say there is nothing wrong with my connection and that 130kb/s is full speed for a 4mb line. they also cant seem to find the fault that Mweb picked up on my line last night.

Damn useless!

Just lost my cool with the guy on the phone and asked for his supervisor. He was busy and they said he will phone me back. Lets see if he calls back or not.

Hi Bar_Rat,

Was that with 1 of our consultants or Telkom?

If it's an MWEB consultant, I do apologise and will look into it for you.

No it was those idiots at telkom. Still have no reply from them.
I have no problem with Mweb consultants. They know a lot more than telkom do.
The mweb person that phoned me last night told me he saw a fault on the telkom line and said i must phone Telkom and get them to do a ESR test(not sure what that is). Telkom do not know what im talking about.

To report back on TOR and mweb, I've played last night and it's been a lot better. I still get minor spikes, but at least it's mostly in the range of 220-250ms :)
