Websites timing out, cant get onto Speedtest to do any testing. Tried the mweb tester but it just froze. Is there a way i can test my line or do i have to get another account just to make sure?

I get Packet Loss Test Error on pingtest.

Hi Bar_Rat,

Please let me know if you still having trouble with your connection.

Hi MWEB Guy,

For the last few days we had horrible internet : slow browsing, BAD pings (local and international), slow Youtube, slow downloads.. even Steam is downloading at a slow 15.5KB/s now.. We have a 4MB uncapped account from MWEB. Any problems we should know about?

Thanks

Hi CVRChameleon,

I am not aware of any issues at the moment besides the ones post on our notice board
Have you had the line tested yet?

I have had a look at your account and everything seems in order there.
Please advise if you are able to test with another ISP account to compare your connection experience, I understand if you cannot.
I only ask as I would like to narrow down the issue to see if it the problem is isolated to the MWEB network. ;)

Hi MWEB Guy

I just got home from work and things are still the same. I got full upload speed almost no download.

Hi Bar_Rat,

Thanks for the feedback.
Just out of curiosity, do you have another ISP account you could test with to compare your results?

Well, at 12:05am the net went down for about 15mins odd and since it's been back, latency in DDO has gone from the 320 odd (lowest was 311), back up to the constant 340 odd. Not really much difference that I would be affected by, just letting you know that the fix didn't fix things.

Thanks for the feedback Mephisto_Helix, I will certainly pass along your comments to the relevant persons.

How do i test my line without calling Telkom out?

I have tested your line and the readings seems good, I have now escalated this to our specialists to investigate.

MWEB Guy

As always MWEB

Account is running like a Boeing! Even Youtube is perfect at the moment-Thanks Guys

Hi MWEB Guy,

I've been having similar issues to Bar_Rat for the past few days in that my pings and upload speeds are mostly fine, but download speeds are very slow and websites struggle to load. The problem is the same on a separate ISP account (WA), so I'm anticipating having to call Telkom out to take a look, but is it possible that you could test my line from your end/offer any insight into what the problem could be?

I've had problems with line noise and exchange congestion in the past but this seems to be something else, since I'm not getting disconnects and pings are normal.

Hi Curse

I will be able to test your adsl line, send me your MWEB details so that I can do this for you.

MWEB Guy

The problem went away for a few hours and is now back again.

Alot of websites are timing out.

Speedtest's download just hangs on "connecting".
