Prophet, you have advised that there is nothing wrong with any other traffic only your international speeds. Also please be aware that file sharing sites are shaped and will be impacted by the speed at which the file is shared.

Sigh. Please don't take me a ****ing idiot. I'm quite sure you are not an idiot too.

globescape is not a file sharing site
debian http/ftp is not a fire sharing site

Why do I do I get bad speeds from their links ?
Have you tested it?
Did you read what I said?

I don't think you did any of those three and just came one here going generic. Seriously WTF.

No let me restate what is wrong

1) some links (and sites) such as globescape is pispoor slow.
Link - ftp://ftp.globalscape.com/pub/cuteftppro/cuteftppro.exe
Site - http://www.globalscape.com/
Picture - http://i42.tinypic.com/33uvdia.jpg

2) debian isos was just random test.
Link - http://debian.inode.at/debian-cd/current/amd64/iso-cd/debian-6.0.4-amd64-CD-1.iso
Site - www.debian.org/distrib/
Picture - http://i40.tinypic.com/353bnef.jpg

Now in god sanity please tell me how did you conclude that those two are filesharing? Must I sort you out tomorrow by calling your manager AGAIN like last time when mweb was kak?

Finally you do know what packet loss means right?

If you look at the pictures you might see that it's both getright and IE to double check that it's neither that's the problem.

Prophet, you have advised that there is nothing wrong with any other traffic only your international speeds. The microsoft data you are fetching will be impacted by the fact that we do not have an akamai node and therefore have to fetch the data internationally. Also please be aware that file sharing sites are shaped and speeds will be impacted by the speed at which the file is shared.

:edit
Also dead and slow
ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/services/TechNet/Windows/Windows95/
ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/services/TechNet/samples/Internet/DBWEB11.EXE

Must be another filesharing site under the guise of microsoft

Our network is fine at the moment, please provide me comparative results from another speed test site. Also please provide me netstat results.

That is comparative results unless you fail at comparing. As I've said I'm not running ookla, which magically is super fast which tells me (don tin) it's optimized on mweb. Clearly testmy is slow on mweb and fast on other networks when compared.

Hi MWEB Guy

Since Friday, even before the scheduled maintenance took place, the speeds on my 4mb uncapped account have been extremely slow, especially international browsing and downloading. Even downloading the latest virus definitions from symantec for norton the fastest speeds it reaches is between 35-40 kb/s. Thanks in advance for any help given.

Kind regards
F. Indiveri

Hi Mweb Guy,

I've had terrible speeds on my 4MB account since Friday. Have tried resetting router many times with no luck. Have missed out on a few games on twitch.tv because of it. Most international sites load extremely slowly.

1MB download test from testmy.net:
79ZQJcf.png

Please let me know how this can be fixed.

Edit:

Testing from a WebAfrica account:
1wZbCED.png

While that's still not great, it's a huge improvement over mweb.

Something is wrong on your network.

Second Edit:

Speedtest.net results via London:

Horrible.

Good Afternoon guys, please reboot your routers and let me know if you are still having trouble with international speeds.

Good Afternoon TmanSA, I have re-authed your account.

Good Afternoon guys, please reboot your routers and let me know if you are still having trouble with international speeds.

I was by coincidence running a bunch of tests and right about now when my line dropped/connection reset i noticed a huge speed difference from 12pm and now (2pm ish) . So something definitely happened just now.

I was getting between 100-400kbps on testmy.net , now it is 500-1.2 MB/s .

Last test being : http://testmy.net/GpRU2Tn.png (1.1 MB/s)
