Hey MWEB Guy

They have connected us to an ADSL2+ exchange now or port lol! Attenuation is now at 57 and SNR at 7.9 Plz. Old you try and stabilize our line at 4mb

Is it just me or had anyone else's connection been just plain skitso since sometime last week? I get periods of full linespeed p2p and then periods of almost nothing being able to get above 10KBps. This seems to happen randomly throughout the day.

Good Afternoon oliverwww, I have tried to sync your line at 4meg without success. I am receiving the following error:

Stabilize option could not be set on the DSL port. APMAC Error occurred: The specified service with GUID : 30d46a2c-1c59-4495-a8b4-14a2643bad47 is currently being changed.

Hmm what does that mean?

I think that might be because they are switching your ports... I will put your request on our open log though. To ensure that we sync your line at 4meg

Good Afternoon rambo919, during the day we do allocate less bandwidth to the lower priority traffic like p2p and torrents. This will impact on your experience, if you are on a shaped product.

Hi MWEB Guy,

I just got of the phone with Telkom and I upgrade my line to a 1MB. I need to upgrade my 384Kbs account to a 1Mb account. How do I got about doing that?

I know that, what puzzles me is how my line seems more odd than usual. Sometimes I have better speed than I have EVER had and other times it's almost dead... it's almost like it's waving at me. Also this goes for all protocols not just p2p.

Good Afternoon, please see the private message I have sent you...

When you test with a 384 and your testing a specific protocol; do you ensure that all other traffic is closed?

(Mweb's results are marginally better).

Anything up with that you know of? Traceroutes and Pings are normal.

You could either go via your MyADSL page https://www.mweb.co.za/onlinemigration
Or you could phone the call centre and ask for an upgrade.
Not sure as to "when" it would happen.

Browsing seeming a bit slow today. Like my gmail is taking a while to load and I'm often getting errors like this:
"Some Gmail features have failed to load due to an Internet connectivity problem. If this problem persists, try reloading the page, or using the basic HTML version. Learn More."

I clicked on "learn more" and this is what google says the cause is:
"A flaky or unstable network connection may be temporarily preventing all of Gmail's features from loading completely. In most cases, most of Gmail will work correctly, and you'll be able to use it as usual."

Is Mweb experiencing problems with SMTP yesterday and today? Myself, and a lot of other people I know that are making use of smtp.mweb.co.za to send mail are struggling since yesterday. It works, but mail sending times out once or twice before successfully making a connection to M-Web's smtp server.

Everything else is working perfectly, and I can confirm that I spoke to a couple of different people in Kempton, Sandton, Bryanston and Fourways that reported slow sending of email.

The exact error message is just "The connection timed out while making a connection to smtp.mweb.co.za". I also tried smtp.mweb.net but that didn't seem to work anymore on uncapped adsl.

I would say that a plain text email takes about 1 minute to send...

Why do I get the feeling you are going through a "1. Is your computer turned on" list? hahaha
Yes i know how to test seperately, but here there is no need because when there is a dip everything goes down to a total of 5-10KBps, I have more than one type running atm. And yes browsing allso gets slow, havent had one of those mysterious white pages for a while though so that's good.

Good Afternoon froot; are those speed test results?

Your line readings and your account seem fine at the moment.

Thanks, that does seem to work better. Have you guys changed something 'cause I've been using smtp.mweb.co.za for year without issues?

Good Afternoon, please provide me your MWEB account details please. Is it only Gmail you are encoutnering a problem with?
