MWEB Uncapped - something big might be happening tomorrow!

Or a DSTV/MWeb/Telkom triple play???

Yip, I see Super5Media's website states : Super 5 Media established that there was an opportunity at the upper end of the South African consumer market for an IPTV proposition for triple-play (bundling telephony, broadband and IPTV services in a single offering).

Really think we're ready for that? Surely Telkom would have to do major upgrades to their network for that to be a possibility?

Not really, most satelite internet works like this, your outbound traffic goes via landline (ADSL) and the download come via your dish. But i don't thinks its that, they would need a new decoder for that...

Thats pretty awesome. What ever happened to the "e-mail" thing DSTV had? Maybe they relaunching that with internet included?

I think it's broadband via dstv satellite service powered by mweb.

That would probably cost too much for DSTV to accomplish, they'd have to do extremely large upgrades to their infrastructure, they'd also have to release a new set of decoders.

Also satellite internet connections suck in general, ADSL is far better.

Does Naspers no own all three of those companies: decoders (irdeto), MultiChoice and MWEB SA? Imagine the possibilities!

My guess is tying in Super5Media's new pay-tv service to the Mweb uncapped to create a iptv/broadband option. Double-play :)

um, Super5media is their competition. Why would they climb in bed with their opposition when their parent company owns DSTV?

Hmmm

Is it just me or is mweb really slow tonight ?

I've been trying for the past half hour to get into my gmail ... even mybroadband takes long to load..

I've rebooted my Netgear and still the same situation prevails ....

Could it be that MWEB are upgrading their network tonight before tomorrows big announcement ?

After all I've seen a huge amount of Telkom planned maintenance notices this week... could it be that Telkom are upgrading the ADSL to higher speeds ? and Mweb is piggy back their announcement on that ?

Intriguing Indeed !
