Venomzn, there is definitely a problem since the service was restored. But regular traffic seems to be unaffected... which is ***ky. Anyway, sigh.

Have MWEB stopped shaping during working hours? Because for the past 2 months I have been getting full speeds 24/7, 900k-1MB/sec
Since yesterday its been irratic, now today im only getting 20k/sec
Im in the Durban area BTW.

I would just like to point out that I am gaming on Mweb uncapped, Counter-Strike: Source, and most of the time I play on the IS servers.

Lag is mostly through the roof and makes it impossible to play (in addition to this, anyone with a ping over 200ms gets kicked automatically).

CS:S uses very little bandwidth, so perhaps somebody could look into this.

I have included a list of IP's of all the CS:S servers I know of in South Africa. Also, it would help if the Mweb servers didn't use such crap maps. :P

On 4MB MWEB business. Had problems for heck of a long time due to some of their clients spamming, IP ranges then get blacklisted not just the guilty spammers. looks like its back to normal now. Speed still sluggish - in Cape Town CBD.
 
Here in Durban cant connect to mweb news server like I normally do.
 
Anyone having probs with Astraweb?
Can anyone confirm if infact MWEB have not been shaping for the past month or so? Have they started shaping again from today?, or are the slow speeds related to the problem from last night?
 
No idea what is going on, last nigh at about 23h00 I was still only getting about 4 kB/s on Astraweb and Supernews using my MWEB account, well outside the "normal shaping times". Using my WA account gave normal speeds, so it was definately a MWEB thing. Do not know what the situation is now, will only be able to check in a couple of hours time.
 
When my line works fine, all the reps are active. When this nonsense happens, i don't see them for days on end... Watch, when the lines come back up we will all of a sudden see them again.
 
Wow I did not think it possible, but my newserver access is even worse than last night. Totaly dead now, 0 kB/s.

Oh well, it was fun whilst it lasted I guess.

Is the problem only with the newsservers or are you picking up other problems as well.
 
Nice MWEB Ops, just ignore my issue. Bet you it's shaping. Let's give the technical help desk a call.......

Edit : ADSL issues jumped from 2 to 5.

Browsing, Youtube, and http downloads seem fine, News Server dead as a doornail. I don't use torrents, so can't comment on that.

I'm not in any one of those effected areas.
 
Alrighty then... I can now connect to news server. through their IP address. still using the @mweb account but apparently that is routed to the SAIX network and their systems are down.

Lovely...At least i am getting some speed.

lower than 10kb but still...
