MWEB Uncapped Subscribers Feedback

Just got another reply from [email protected] totally ignoring my queries (some relating to cancellation) but explaining in detail what is required to cancel my account. Must have been a general email that is copied and pasted irrespective of query.

Customer Service and others at mweb, including Mweb operations on this forum have still not responded so maybe yes, the cancellation department is the most effecient at mweb.

On the plus side: don't know if mweb operations on this fourm did something but browsing is much improved and acceptible.
As long as the wife and I can browse on the net during the day; kids can play online in the evening and we can d/l at night, we're happy.

Waiting.....

Hi Erty

thanks mweb ops

can now browse to MY ADSL to check usage, etc.
please respond to my other query in the inbox.

Now if you can just get your sales or billing people to be as efficient as you to handle queries and not cop out the easy way by sending cancellation forms.

has anyone been getting bad speeds on fileserve for the last few days? speeds average at 24kbs at all times of the day/night

Ye, I last used it 4 days ago and it was still the usual 120Kb but it went down to 40-80Kb later and now it's stuck around 40Kb as well. You could try phoning MWeb but I doubt they'll really resolve a problem with one specific filehost being slower than usual. "Shaping" is probably all you'll get from the helpdesk. Maybe the Rep can help. EDIT: Actually it's back to 100Kb now.

Filesonic et al. is still good in any case.

Why can I not connect to a Hotfile link with MWeb (connection reset) but my Afrihost loads it straight away?

Think I am going to be jumping on the cancellation bandwagon if things are starting to get this bad.

my 2nd night now of file hosting sites Megaupload and Hotfile not downloading from around midnight (haven't tried earlier since this is time I start my downloads)

although I tried my Afrihost and although it loads them ASAP, they go at a measly less than 100KB/s...

so maybe it not just Mweb related? although it is starting to become a pain...

Hi Gordon and all others with this question. The only change from last nights work which may have an effect on the customer experience was the Cape Town caching servers that were brought online, although I'm not sure if they've been taken live yet. The other work was done to prepare the network for the SAT-3 link when it arrives. I don't currently have a date for exactly when that's taking place.

This morning I finally found something that was cached on MWeb's (CT) servers, a BBC podcast that downloaded at 330KB/sec (11.6MB in 36 sec). Maybe we can finally look forward to somewhat improved speeds now. (No change to routing at this stage).

Reminding folks about the benefits of cancelling is not spamming. Thus, I will continue posting reminders, from time to time, for the newbie haters.

Would you please stop spamming this thread? We can see you're unhappy with MWEB. I personally am not, so this is useless for me in a Subscriber Feedback thread and wastes my time having to read it. A simple search here will certainly show up this address for anyone that do wish to cancel.

Thank you.

Same here, sent cancellation doc on the 8th and thus far only received the auto response, nothing else.

Phone them. I phoned them with regards to my cancellation. I was pleasantly surprised with the lady that helped me, unfortunately it was a bit too late.

True, but why if they offer the service on cancelling using another method? Surely this should be just as effective as phoning?

My line appears to have returned to normal however I'm still going through with the cancellation will leave the call till the last moment....ya know.

Sheesh - this thread is going south. If you wont like Mweb then picking up the frikking phone and just cancel!

Well the thread is "MWEB Uncapped Subscribers Feedback" & you're seeing some feedback even if it's not in "black & white"....
