Quick question for people who can think logically.... if "MWEB" is not the problem why are all problems resolved by changing to a backup account at WebAfrica / Afrihost etc... I have been watching the forums... and most people can resolve their issues with a pre-paid credit card purchase to another ISP... (REALLY NOT IDEAL / FUN / FAIR) but that does prove the problem lies with MWEB not TELKOM. Whoooaaaa... never thought I'd ever not give telkom the fault... weird times...
Exactly Sidia, exactly.
Maybe it's none of them, maybe its your setup or system. Lots of speculation going on and no first hand experience. But what do you know, kids today think they know it all, most of them are Google fundi's and keyboard operators that suddenly make them IT experts, yet they in reality know nothing and do nothing but play or post on the net.
Hope you not talking about me cause I can assure you I did network support for a BIG government company that I can't mention. My contract expired and due to the fact that the company was bought over they couldn't let me stay. I worked with WAN link so no one can BS me. I also worked with Cisco devices

So I guess being a Performance Testing Engineer makes me a noob then?
It is simple diagnostic reasoning applied to come to a conclusion that the MWEB network is worse than the WA network. (And yes MWEB moves accross SEACOM where my WA account moves across SAIX)... in the end I am still a customer paying for a service I am not being delivered.
Also I think were moving in the 1 month since I last used MWEB to play wow with as it is totally untrustworthy...
Another simple piece of "disturbing" evidence...
Using a UNSHAPED UNCAPPED account... works well certain times of the day... then bang 300kb/s goes down to 150kb/s... change network tada... problem solved. IE SHAPING on UNSHAPED account... now to find the proof on the network somehow.
What about the connection from the exchange upstream? This will not be the same for each ISP. So you will follow a different route if you connect from your home to MWEB or from your home to another ISP, AFAIK.
I am still trying to understand why some people think its wrong to "complain" about service you receive? Why bash people who are unhappy... I can promise if you were in the same position you would also be unhappy... or is this the New South Africa... bad service is OK ... if it is not effecting me...
Yup, it just makes me so angry when ppl tell you to stop complaining on a thread made for issues like this. Hell people, if you dont have any problems, dont come here and tell others to stop complaining. Its hard already, im frustrated to the max, feels like my house has been broken into and my pc stolen. Remember, we are paying them for a service, its not like we are getting it for free.
I know NNTP is being shaped, but am I the only one who can't even connect?
