Any ETA on my ref : 601464

If I remember correctly, this was escalated on Friday 13th and its now 5-6days later...

From what i can gather this is a overall Cape Town issue

I see that your query is currently with our engineers, I do not have an ETA as yet.
I will contact them and provide you with feedback.
 
Just for the record,, I am a cape town user and I am having no issues at all..

(Touch wood) -- My connection is stable, get full speed on http downloads. I also am getting normal speeds from news server (around 60k during the day, 70 to 100k after 6pm, after 11pm to slowly speeds up and full speed after 1am) and over the weekend 100 to 150k during the day and full speed at night. I do use a paid news server and the mweb news server. Maybe that makes a difference. The only issue I had was around two weeks back when seacom went down and the next night I was only getting 20k downloads. I switched off my router for 30 minutes, got a new IP when I logged back in and my speeds immediately returned to normal.



I do know that the cape town users dont have access to the cache server for news, therefore we cant download cached items at full speed.

This sums up my experience as a Cape Town + Astraweb user.

I know that it's now the 19th of this month, is it still possible to cancel and not pay or do I have to wait till the 1st next month to cancel ?
 
What difference would it make cancelling now or on the first? U will still be paying them june and ur account will only be cancelled at the end of june.

Latency just went for a ball of apricots .... again. Like a rollercoaster - up and down and up and down.

It's up, it's down, it's up etc etc.

It's up now, but for some reason at a steady (shaped?) 191kbs.
 
Must say, I am using a combo of things to download, seems to be working.

Soon though MWEB, I will have a 4mb line, hopefully 10mb, and I swear, If i pay R500 odd a month and get nonsense speeds, it's a straight away goodbye!

4mb users moan alot...
