I need support on my billing, and account, but the telephonic support is closed until tomorrow. Is there any way I can get assistance before tomorrow?

World of Warcraft is totally unplayable since you changed whatever you did. I ping 232 to Battleping but when I go in game my ping is 500+. I have no idea what you did but if this doesnt get fixed I am afraid I will be cancelling my Mweb Account. Its one of the main reasons I got an account from Mweb in the first place. It was working perfectly for 5 months, but ever since the beginning of last week its been broken. I am getting so fed up.

Greetings, ladies.

Decided to jump over to MWeb. Let's see how this goes.

So far everything is perfect :)

Aside from a minor billing er... pickle which I'm sure will be sorted out (was told it would be charged pro-rata but er... it currently says there's a balance of R1112.77

So far, can't complain :p

Well done M-Web. A new low. 56bytes a second.

Not Kbytes,

BYTES.

And just to add - this is on a normal HTTP download.

I CAN NOT EVEN DO A RANDOM BATTLEGROUND. I mean what the hell is going on. How the hell can I ping 232ms to the Battleping Server but then in game I get packet loss and 800ms?????? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE ?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

And I know it is you Mweb. I have an unshaped WebAfrica account and that ping doesnt move from 200ms, on battleping and IN GAME. Fix what ever you broke please. This is getting beyond frustrating. Almost 2 weeks I have had to pay for other bandwidth just do to menial things in WoW.

I dont see how that has any relevance to the throughput of WoW port. Its simply an issue of limiting bandwidth on that port. TCP 3724. My unshaped WebAfrica account is completely stable at 200 ms in game and pinging Battleping. No matter what I do my latency does not move. With Mweb Uncapped Shaped, for the past 2 weeks I have been unable to do even the simplest of tasks without having a 500-900+ms ping. Its clearly not Telkoms fault. Changing peoples lines from 512 to 1mb is not going to affect me unless they are all Mweb Uncapped users and also upgraded their Mweb Accounts. This fault lies COMPLETELY with Mweb. They are shaping my gaming port. The throughput is non-existant. It is getting beyond a joke. I cant keep spending R100 every 4 days on other Bandwidth because Mweb decided to shape my gaming port. FIX IT NOW MWEB.

Probably not the most helpful thing I could suggest but WTFast, tried it?

I use battleping. I have for over a year. Its like WTFast but BETTER. Its the best proxy service I have ever used to reduce WoW ping. I havent had problems with Mweb since 2 weeks ago when they decided that they needed to change their shaping rules. Now WoW is getting Shaped and due to that fact, even WITH a proxy service I am getting unplayable latency.

Wait till between 11am and 2pm and the massive amounts of QQ will start which will last the whole week again. I hope im wrong, but lets see if my prediction comes true :)

Guess i was right this morning, wish i wasnt thou :( Mweb has not fixed anything, people just were not complaining allot cause it was the weekend. Now we will have bad speeds and issues again the whole week without it being resolved. Going on a month now, aggressive shaping is aggressive.

Its pathetic Silli. Its a frigging gaming port, not a P2P service, even tho Mweb seems to classify it as such. The simple fact that I didnt have any problems with this before shows its clearly Mwebs new shaping policy.

In fact getting information from guildies they have had this problem with their ISPS before. BT did this for 1 day but the amount of bitching and complaining on their forums got it fixed in 1 day. This has been for almost 2-3 weeks for us now. WoW does use P2P for its updates/downloads so that is why some ISP's classify it as such. Every ISP to do this has reverted the change due to the poor service it causes for the game.

Hmm... Just popped open a trial account to test and I get 554ms latency without using a proxy (which is normal for me).

I think the MWeb IPC in your region might be over congested... *shrug* :(

No idea how it works, to be honest.

Yup exactly, it has to be. There is no other reasonable explanation ;( Sad thing is, its probably going to get treated as an individual user error or something, go through the motions and then finally later something substantial might be done. Actually pretty unacceptable, sc2 also lags last time i tried it.

SC2 was unplayable last time I tried. Since there is no Proxy I know of for SC2 anyways. I am currently on my WebAfrica unshaped account. 200ms in game during Random Battleground. Clearly Mweb is shaping the wow port fscked!

At least my 1gig afrihost can be used for a whole month's worth of sc2, thats how little cap it takes, clearly it should be shaped to protect mweb !!!!!11111one
On a serious note, 9kb/s NNTP at 7:16 pm ffs, this isnt office hours ! Browsing feels slow, FTP secure server goes at 19kb/s.

I would like to ask this question again to Mweb guy or Will.

Q: There has been allot of talk about P2P being shaped, we shouldnt expect full speed, as with 1 click hosting sites etc etc etc. I would just like to ask, what should we expect to get full speeds on? Speed tests also doesnt show full speeds. HTTP, FTP servers youtube does not hit full speed at 7pm. So my question is simple, you have made it clear that we should not expect full speed on allot of stuff, what can we expect full speeds on?

Q2: If we cannot expect full speed on anything, shouldnt you rename your account to "uncapped 56k - 384k" instead of uncapped 384k for example? My reasoning being if you cannot hit 38kb/s on anything then its not actually suppose to say 384k.. I could be wrong :)
