Why have I been double charged for my uncapped this month? R1078 have been deducted from my account this month. I am not just a little bit upset, now some of my other debit orders have not gone trough.

Morning Gargmel, please see the inbox message I sent you.

New sign up ? Then you must have some how magically missed the part that says...doem doem doem... ProRata :)

OK, after getting 1mb speeds on my 512 uncapped MWEB account last week, I'm back to 0.44mb speeds according to speedtest.net - my adsl account status also still shows I'm still on the 512 package. I can upgrade manually for the same price though. I wonder if I should upgrade manually or wait for MWEB to do it automatically (the company is paying for my line so manually is a bit of red rape)...

I agree with the "rape" part; I'm supposed to be running at 1mb yet absolutely nothing works...

Nope, signed up the first month Mweb offered uncapped. But it seems Mweb Guy sorted it out quick stix. Thanks.

same here gargmel, double charged after 5 months, not like the 1st debit order...
i opened a ticked with billing, waiting for a response, but also insisting on some refund / compensation etc, for the product being not usefull untill the 27th of may for me

Morning Vaalpens, please provide me the email address linked to the account in question and I will follow up on this for you.

Kind regards,
MWEB Guy

Morning prophet, please try testing to a couple more servers in London and please provide me the results.

For those that were hoping the new month would bring about positive change for Durban / JHB users on MWEB, it looks like disappointment all round. I've only had time to do a small batch of testing this morning, but its pretty clear that there has been no change at all; we are still throttled per connection. Durban = 40KB/sec on *any* international HTTP URL. Same URL in Cape Town = 180KB/sec.

I plan on splitting this DBN/JHB vs. Cape Town issue out into a new thread when I get a moment. I feel that the issue is big enough to warrant a separate thread in the hopes of drawing attention to it, and it is getting lost amongst a host of other unrelated issues here.

Good idea, the issue gets lost in this thread amongst people posting speeds etc

I'll do this just now...

I just downloaded the AVG free 2011 and the setup file came down at over 300kb/s? Looks like Mweb are rotating by prioritizing their clients?

MOrning ShodanZA

Your usage thus far this morning is up to 11gig already and its 10:30 Am, your usage for yesterday was at 22gig for the day. Are you running any downloads while testing the download speeds of AVG?

Good G@d, how is that possible? I cannot even get close to such figures with my 4M account?

Shodan, care to share some tips? PM me what you are downloading and how. I want to simulate the exact same and see if my system can even match a portion of it.

I stopped all my downloads last night as I could not play KZ3 on PSN due to serious lag and disconnections. In the past it was never like this. Time to cancel this fiasco. I will have to endure this for another 2 months it seems as I did not cancel yesterday as I wanted to do due to a call from MwebGuy giving me hope. I have no hope left now.

Looks to me as if Openweb are my only choice left now as WA failed miserably with their "exciting announcement".
