@Sillicur: Will said he needed some time to check on a few things, so give him some time to check. Counting days and hours and minutes serves no purpose except to frustrate yourself.

I gave Mweb Guy more than 3 weeks. Mweb Guy lied to me and said it was under investigation by their network team while Will said 3 weeks later that he wont devote his network teams time chasing shadows. So now I gave him all the info he possibly needed, so for me, after so much time, it pretty much is important to show them and the other people looking at this thread how long they are taking to resolve the problem and show people how Mweb Guy lied to everyone here.

Just to show again that the problem lies with MWEB.

I just used my WA account to test, fileserve downloads work (including upload-file.php and remote-upload.php) and so does mediafire.

Back to MWEB they all timeout again...

I find Mediafire links dont work sometimes when I come back from work +/- 5PM till about 8 PM at night, so I just figured it was probably the service shutting down certain servers in certain areas for a certain time to save money, cant see how this can be so frustrating at all? Just use Megaupload or Wupload ect ect if one fails. I mean seriously I know a french site that converts Megaupload links on the fly. Not to mention other sites that do more or less the same thing just by clicking on a bunch of ads.

Just my 5c, and to answer your question yes i am a Mweb fanboy :P Getting some awesome download speeds and video streaming results using these oukies, sure they give us kak from time to time but for what im paying im getting back 10 FOLD!

@MWEB Representatives, i have a client who is having issues with no data throughput at times on there mweb account, i have replaced and tested with 3 different models and makes of modems. The issue is that the line stays synced and authenticated but no data throughput at all. Reboot router and all works again, have checked the line with Telkom and they say all is fine and say i need to speak to ISP. If someone from Mweb could put me in the right direction as client has to reboot router at minimum 4 times a day, sometimes 4 times an hour to get internet access again.

Past week now, between 11am and about 5pm, local latency sits at 80-140 and international latency between 400-550 ........ it's usually 35-65 and 315-390 respectively. And just to forego any "it's your exchange/line/price of eggs" arguments, an AH or WA account switch and all is perfect, back to Mweb and problem is back.

Please send me your clients MWEB details and I will investigate this for you.

Steam not connecting........................................... Hmmm - I think it is time to look for a alternative ISP? Any suggestions?

Seacom down?

MWEB and FNB broken.

Hi PostmanPot

We are experiencing some trouble with MWEB page and Myaccount page, we are working on this and hope to have it up and running shortly.

Dude, please stop asking people to send their account details. You know, we know, everyone knows that there something has changed. Read all the posts about non-connections to Astraweb (0kb/s now but full speed over VPN). Just read the forums and stops wasting everyone's time on this forum. I've given up and now I bypass your shaping with a VPN - you have given me no alternative.

I queued up a download at about 06:30 this morning on usenetserver.com and it was running at about 400kB/s when I left for work. Just got back to find that it's stalled at 0kB/s. Added the mweb news server to my config and the download resumed at over 420kB/s and is holding steady. I love it when my internet works the way I want it to :D

Yay. 460kb/s with my VPN on Astraweb as opposed to 0. Oh and please try and tell me that I'm bypassing shaping and I'll hit back with the fact you're blocking sites.

And when steam is connecting - it keeps on disconnecting in black ops!!!

howsit guys, i just got an uncapped 1MB line, had it for barely 2 weeks, and for most of the time it runs like 384 line, only with Telkom do I actually only get anything near 100kb, MWEB? What the hell? Seriously have to cancel, this sux man, can someone please fix this? Is it even fixable?

And this is going to become an increasing trend if Mweb insist on persisting with the harsh shaping that they've been imposing, increasingly so as of late. Mweb you guys really need to try minimize or get rid of shaping already, nevermind tighten it more
