Is Youtube still going well? Can't check because I'm not at home. Last I checked it was going brilliantly...

My speeds for nzb's are quite good going +- 250-380kbps, for most hours been running the service from this morning until now. Working like a bomb, just at the moment it slowed down now to 250kb/s anyone know if SAIX or IS news servers will work aswell? i am currently only using mwebs news servers:/ HELP!!:P o and normal http downloads also works like a bullet downloaded few things from hotfiles.com.

update changed to connections to four and now newshost downloads hitting to 420+ :D

MWEB uncapped 512 - streaming winamp radio stations, browsing and video skype all working well still. News server having some issues, maybe too much load but it does connect eventually and at full line speed

rapidshare problems...

Anyone having issues with rapidshare? I got a premium account.. but the actual rapidshare website and/or links aren't opening (response time outs)..
 
I've just been activated on the MWEB 4MB uncapped deal, I'm testing it by downloading America's Army 3 on STEAM. 400KB/s! :D
 
Anyone have feedback on the 384k lines? It seems like everyone has 4mb here.
Also, what's plain simple browsing like? Comparable to a normal Afrihost account?

So far, its excellent. Downloads running full line speed and browsing feels the same as a "normal" afrihost account :p.
 
Could someone who has an uncapped account trace route to 80.239.181.76 pls ^_^

And whats the WoW latency like (specifically in raids and BGs) , I have a 5GB (512kb/s) acc with afrihost and I get between 300ms and 700ms.

If you're looking for the lowest latency to the UK, then unfortunately the Mweb accounts won't be the best because they utilize Seacom. Seacom runs along the east coast of Africa, so it's a longer cable route to the UK than with SAT3. Achievable latency from JHB to UK with SEACOM over adsl: ~240ms, with SAT3: ~185ms. So you're better off with an IS Fibre, SAIX Unshaped, or MTNNS-based account (they use Telkom's SAT3)
 
only problem im haveing with rapid is i exceed my daily allowance!
 
I am having issues downloading from the MWEB news server, "they" (MWEB) say you can have 2 connections, I am using 1, when I use 2, it fails.

and in wow i usually get about 220-300ms without lowerping, add lowerping it stays at about 219/230. I play on ravenholdt,dunemaul. funnily enough i get better pings with webafrica shaped than i do with there unshaped service.
 
what is the theoretical lowest ping to sites in europe?

i do notice however that in the UK, my pings to london are higher than to other sites in the UK. Is this a sign of how busy the servers are?
