strange when it comes to pings. no consistency at all

Whats the point of having uncapped if the pings are terrible?

I know sure i can download but what if i wana play a game?

My pings were fine on my old telkom account, so guess ill go back to that then
 
Ive had my mweb uncapped for one day and im planning on cancelling this account tomorrow...

My ping used to be around 50 - 70...earlier today it was 130 now its 250, im not gona pay for that.

Far as i know there is a network problem country wide. You should see if it comes right by tomorrow. I am pinging 140 as i was last week and it came right.

The whole week my ping has been 14ms, only today it is high. Cancel if you want but i would give it a couple days.

In the last couple of hours ping has shot up tremendously though.
My pings to the saix server this morning was like 89ms
 
If there is a problem and its affecting my line then surely it shouldve affected my line with my telkom account too?

Or is this just a mweb problem?

Yeah I am too. I am going to Afrihost 8meg uncapped. Getting 40kbs durinf day and 80-100kbs during night! not paying for that either...

I think it could be a problem with mweb because my afrihost pings were fine last week. I haven't check recently though.
Can someone confirm there is a country wide network problem?
 
WOOHOOO!

mweb just emailed me my free username and password to test my 4mb uncapped and 5 mins later, its up and running!
no need to fill in forms!
i have until the 30 April then they close it, if i dont want it!

i wish haha. But telkom were doing something on my exhange...so could be upgrade. I am going on Afrihost 4mb uncapped for now. How is the speed on afrihost?

In my experience afrihost has always been top notch. So speed shouldn't be a problem but just check their tmc's , looks like they have a fair usage policy for 100gb a month.
 
You needs dont seem to understand, it's not Afrihost - it's the actual line / cable / exchange that determines speeds... Afrihost just give you access to it by making less profit than anyone else.

I assumed he already knew that , as far as I can tell he was unhappy with the shaping of his service. And afrihost is mostly unshaped.

I didn't even know they had free trial accounts I signed up for the service about 2 hours after it launched and I will be paying for all my uncapped pleasure .
Can't blame me for asking? lol
 
looking across all the feedback threads there seem to be inconsistent behavioutr across all different providers. which i suspect is to be expected given i suspect the mass number of people who have moved to these accounts. and the numbers who are quite possible doing their best to pull amounts of data (not that i blame them).
