That is way too high.... local right? What does a speedtest and pingtest look like?

Problems: Requested account to be only activated from 1 April 2010, as i currently have an account, email address assigned was incorrect.

My account has been billed a pro rata amount of R808.50 on one invoce and R630.00 on another. They will not change this until they have gone through the phone records WTF?

Took 3 days to get the email address sorted out, and then they politly change my password, i phone to find out what password to use, after 45 mins, eventually I can log on.

I only hope this service gets better, because this amount of fustration is no worth it.

k well im gona give them a few days to see how it goes.

My speeds now are fine, but even when my pings are very high the download speeds are still bang on. So i dont really understand that but ill give them a chance.

obviously people want low pings during the usable hours. but as i said earlier i am willing to be patient into next month.

my account has been active now for a few hours and my torrents are hitting 438kb/s !

torrents, for goodness sake!

not news server stuff.
please keep it up as long as u can!

In my experience afrihost has always been top notch. So speed shouldn't be a problem but just check their tmc's , looks like they have a fair usage policy for 100gb a month.

Who are you with now? so they do not prioritize people?
 
I'm on Mweb 512 uncapped and it has actually improved from when I first got it. now if telkom can just keep my line from dropping all the time....
 
Speeds are up and down for me today. Currently doing 1.5 Mbps in Newsbin Pro (4096 line), but it was crawling ten minutes ago.
 
Thanks for the update - Glad its looking better, at work now but will check when I get home.
 
Going perfect for me here , 130 kB/s is perfect for me during the day... (4096 kbps)
 
Its the end of school term today, so don't assume that things will always be as fast as they are at present!

I'm finding local quite fast at present (though ping times are erratic, and sometimes congested to certain web hosts).

International has always been slow (currently 50KByte/sec on a 4Mbps capped line).

My uncapped is dying. Torrents are pathetic. 0.1 to 1.5kB max. HTTP browsing is also very slow. Pingtest.net gives me a ping of over 700ms.
I just switched back to a Afrihost account and immediately the torrents climbed to about 50kB and pings dropped to 70ms.

My MWEB experience is not good thus far. I notice some of you have good speeds.

I'm seriously thinking of cancelling after just a few days. Just a pity about the 30day notice period.
