Most likely the best you will get on a 4mbit line, because it bursts to about 430+-. So yeah its pretty good.

Pulling and ISO at max speed, no probs here
http is fine for me, my torrents are crawling at about 5kb/s (348) but dont have to panic about just 1 nights slow speeds.

Given up the service @384, it is indeed crap. I have cancelled with Mweb and I am not fighting them about the calendar month notice of cancellation What a cheek. NEW POTENTIAL USERS BEWARE, MWEB ARE AT BEST OVER ADVERTISING THEIR SERVICE. I'm back to Axxess whom I have been with for many years. What a waste of time
Not that much hey, I've only had it 5 days and DL'd 14GB.
Likewise, woke up this morning to see that it was back up again. I just moved over to the 4096 option with the discount of R299, what a pleasant surprise [-_-] Will report tonight on how those DL's go today.

Is anyone here using Astraweb? Are usenet downloads shaped during the day?
Yeah seems like things are much much better today..its the first time since I've gotten it that its been low latency and acceptable speedtest results:
Just hoping its stays that way, in addition the shaping seems to stop around 11 in the night, as my torrents started to speed up at that time, was getting around 22-30kb/s on well seeded torrents. Don't know what time they slow down again in the morning though. The Mweb newservers well I haven't really given them a chance, started it up last night just to check and it was running around 15kbs max..will check again tonight.

Guys remember mweb shape nzb's, torrents etc badly during the day. So don't expect to dowload during the day. If you are not happy with this you can always go get the 2.5k uncapped all day accounts from openweb.

i'm very surprised as well...
at the moment, my sister is using wifi via her Macbook and the speed remains relatively steady at 40kb for my torrents.
normally i switch to my capped 4mb Afrihost account when she goes on line as well to compensate but for now i dont mind 40kb/s.
i will save my afrihost GB for later tonite.
