Maybe I should put in leave for a day and see what it does during the day time because I find all this negative feedback hard to believe.
Currently I am convinced that the sun is shining out of my routers [-]ass[/-] jacks because it is connected to M-Web uncapped

On 4mb uncapped... Not as fast as another unshaped 3 gig account i have, but minimum of 100KB/s on torrents bursting to 400KB/s early mornings is heaven!
on a side note... ive noticed that while torrents run at 100KB/s i can stream youtube or watch trailers or download nokia software without it slowing so you still have use of the remianing bandwidth even though the torrents dont seem to utilise it...
but that doesnt bother me much B-)

Last night I watch about 300MB of video on my 5800 (gotta love wide screen phones) using the youtube client. There was no buffering messages and this was while my torrents where doing 200+kb/s. HTTP does get priority over Torrents so if you have enough HTTP traffic you can keep you connection running at 400kb/s for a long time.

My speeds seem fine during the day, 250-400ish depending on where I am grabbing the data from (non torrent traffic though).

This whole episode has cost me close to R2500-00 as I bought a new modem, phone calls etc etc and Mweb tell me that they are fiddling with the shaping? WTF??
Starts off bursting at 500k then drops to 20k. I am pissed.

Probably because nobody is getting any torrents to congest the network with lol... (I assume by newgroups you are getting local traffic from a local newsgroup)

i'm using http for torrents...averaging 420kb/s .

no problem with international at anytime in the past week...i see that there are more problems with seacom.

Yip - the **** has been shaped out of newsgroups today. I'm also getting between 5-50kb.

I think MWEB actually rotate their throttling, one day newsgroups, then torrents, rapidshare, etc.

Even HTTP download is slow, trying to download a codec @ 14/kb on a 4mb line...
