MWEB Uncapped Subscribers Feedback

@ Rouxenator - You can't deny that some problems are unique to individuals & their associated lines. The thread is called MWEB Uncapped Subscribers Feedback so I'm sure there will be positive & negative comments on anything with the word feedback in it.

I haven't downloaded nearly as much as you LOL but actually what I download could be done for less than what I'm paying now on my 384 oddly enough. Guess I just wanna be a part of it all :wtf:

Fact - pretty much all users get useless speeds on P2P etc. during the day. Regardless.

Fact - my line only achieves full speed for +/-3 (more - though) hours a day. (P2P etc.)

Concern - are my usage stats accurate ?? Dunno but will monitor ;)

Yeah, to be honest it's a damn good experience over all. 170GB this month so far with minimal fuss...

Having said that I can't imagine using their 384kbps product. It must suck bigtime...

Weren't you crying about mweb being kuk the other day?

Snekko webafrica have 25gb's for 299 and afrihost has a 20 plus 20 for 289, are you you using more than 40gb a month?

So how many gb's have you pulled marine?

Not entirely sure to be honest, will check just now, I am not complaining just pointing out, I am actually quite happy now that the weekend issues are fixed.
Look, just remember I came from having 1mb ADSL that was extremely unstable so for me this is like Christmas.

Where on Mweb do I check ?

Was more trolling than crying. I've been behind and punting them from day one.

It does worry me though that http is being shaped sometimes to 200kBps. Will they shape to 150kBps next month and well they shape to 100kBps the month after that. Also the window between 11pm and 6am when things open up a bit, will they start shaping there too??!!!

I still maintain bang for buck they 2nd to none but Mweb change the characteristics and performance of their product with impunity and at their whim. That concerns me a bit....

You?

Ofcourse people should voice their problems and concerns here, and naturally the rest of us can offer advice on how to fix or address the problem. So let me explain my answer.

When people moan about the speeds they get I tell them to get AfriHost because it will change them. Now there are a number of reason I suggest this so let me try to list them :

1) They are changing their ISP and moving away from Mweb which is clearly causing their problems.
2) By churning they feel better because its like "Yeah, stuff you Mweb, watch me move away to another ISP and weep your losses".
3) For the rest of us, like me, there will more bandwidth on Mweb.
4) All of the complaints I have seen has been about P2P being slow and quite frankly if you maon about that you are just full of it.
5) I say "it will change you" with regard to moving to AfriHost because you will then really see what a bad ISP is like and you will then have reason to rant and rave.
6) Rants and rave that I will not hear because there is no way in hell I am moving away from Mweb.

So in short - most of the complaints are from people full of crap, my standard reply is to help them see real crap by giving them a crap answer. Maybe they follow the advice and come to some sort of insight.

Really, how can you be so daft as to think you are going to pay less than R1000 per month and get uncapped and unshaped internet ? What are you trying to do - download 1.3TB in a month on a 4mbps line just because that is the theoretical limit? Of course you are gonna get shaped and of course P2P and other mass downloading will be first in the line of fire.

In the end do the math before you complain - see if it will be cheaper for you to pull the kind of volumes that you currently do on capped unshaped accounts. If it is, well, there is a better answer for you than moving to AfriHost.

I would agree, it pisses me off that I rarely get over 250k but anyway I suppose thats just the way it is.

You have used 129.31 GB so far this month. Last Session: 27 May, 2010, 00:06:19.

I would maybe prefer a cap of lets say 800gigs a month but have full 4mb speeds after hours.
Maybe the Axxess express + is the answer?

I just go to www.mweb.co.za and sign into my mail account :D. Then check my stats via the page.

Mweb seems broken now though using my back up IS account.

129gb and you are moaning so much dude? Wow.

Sandman they have changed nothing dude. They said from day one there is shaping during the day and they never said what it will be or what they will allow. So as i said i am happy downloading 11gb a day if i wanted to. Not serious for me mweb shaping during the day. I want good fast interwebs during work hours anyhow :D.

Chrome does not seem to work had to use IE

Mweb down at the moment?

Can only access their site and a few other local sites

I think the bottomline is Mweb's offering spectacular value for money. Is it a spectacular uncapped product in terms of performance. No. Is it spectacular in relation to other offerings around R500, yes, the best...

Hmm how odd it appears as if my Mweb uncapped has just been capped - I can only obtain Mweb.co.za - Anyone else ??
