I never did any downloading yesterday :P Think I did maybe 5gb's or something last night :)

These accounts are there to be whacked, it's very do-able.

Sorry my mistake, checked my logs, the file I downloaded was quite a bit bigger than 5gb's.....total for yesterday was just under 15gb's....which is taking it very very easy ;)

About 22-28gb's can be done on a good day, contstantly running downloads 24/7

Ok think I've said enough about this now

The theoretical limit on 4mbps is 1.3TB in a month, but to get that I think you will need to be on one of the unshapped uncapped packages and no one here is gonna spend R2500 when they could get everything they want for R550 on a shaped account.

1.3TB ~ 1330GB. At R99 per 1.5GB booster, that would have cost in the region of R88,000 on a capped package.

The 350GB you mentioned would have cost R23,000. :) <flame-protector>And people still complain about it.</frame-protector>

Wow hey unshaped, uncapped? And Yet the service is still terrible.

Its your router/modem. Get Afrihost uncapped and you will see it is the same.

Dude im not some chop that doesnt understand networks, routers, configurations etc.. I know for a fact its not my router, i dont need to go to some other provider to prove how great another provider is. The premium thats being paid for this business account is alot, and the service is laughable.

Agreed - but there is always a solution to any problem. The question is just how much you are willing to spend on it.
You can always take your stuff and move your business to Korea where they have the best internet in the word.
Or you can get one of those fancy fishbone solutions that offers 24mbps?
Maybe if you are using less than 27GB a month you can simply buy 27 unshapped 1GB accounts from Telkom and you will have it as good as it gets locally ?

Yeah exactly -- to repeat by bleats from before -- there are so many possible points of failure with regard to an ADSL service, that it is absolutely critical that each and every point be carefully tested and checked. If many MWeb customers are downloading GB's of data per month, then CLEARLY MWeb is providing a good service. If other MWeb customers are experiencing problems, they need to carefully investigate each component of the system in order to isolate the problem. If person A can download 100GB a month on Web and person B cannot, then the problem PROBABLY lies with something on person B's system, as MWeb is the common feature between both. I'm not saying MWeb is always 100% correct and utterly blameless. I'm just saying that continuing poor performance is PROBABLY related to something else. And until EVERY other aspect has been excluded, it is NOT possible for fair to immediately and incessantly blame MWeb. Sheesh. HOW many times has this been said.

I have a 2Mbit diginet connection into MTN-NS with a 2MBit intl outbreak. which costs about 80K a month. The point is not to compare dick sizes just that this service is not worth it.

@Sabre - Seriously dont presume to think you know everything. The router is fine, the line is fine, there is zero-degradation on the line.

So what? Close the account or tell us what specific actions you have taken to remedy the situation. Sheesh I'm tired of these kinds of posts. Forget it -- don't bother to tell us. You just "know" right? I'm done responding to "MWeb sucks" posts. Cheers. Go ahead, you have the last word.

Does anyone know how to check the IP of your current session through the mweb control panel?

What exactly is the problem with your service ma'seh0re?

Sounds to me like you're some kinda chop that doesnt understand networks, routers, configurations etc.

Maybe you need to go to some other provider and prove how great their service is?

The premium you're paying for your business account isn't much and the service isn't that bad.

:D

lolol just messin wit ya bro, seriously what problem are you having?

Well then there you have it, you clearly don't need Mweb and I can assure you the feeling is mutual - so cancel your Mweb account.

Oh wait, what's that you say? Something about being cheaper? You'd rather pay R2500 instead of R80,000? Well then sir, you are welcome to do so, just don't expect the same R80,000 service for the R2500 option.
