MWEB Uncapped Subscribers Feedback

Mweb have asked people with problems to use a proxy which routes through SAIX. It will indicate when the problems are Mweb's. So he has an Mweb account with an option to link through Telkom.

@Tanya35 Telkom are currently not in a position to give us more capacity on our own IPC network so we are having to make use of their SAIX wholesale network to ensure that we have sufficient capacity.

The reason for moving you between networks is two-fold:
1. to load-balance the amount of traffic across all our ADSL users, to ensure that everyone is getting a good experience.
2. the costs of the SAIX network are very high and we cannot allow heavy users to consume excessive amounts of bandwidth at these rates

@ MWEB Ops. I got an SMS from Telkom about 2 hours ago saying that my problem has been resolved. I just checked it now and I'm getting 15-16kb/s download with 4meg. Hardly resolved if you ask me.
I'm still getting my full upload speeds of around 42-45kb/s

@Bluink. Was the SMS related to the network outage? We have not yet
been informed that the Telkom network issue has been resolved.

No it wasn't related to the outage, but my speeds are still fluctuating between 10-20kb/s just as they have been for the past few weeks.
The sms told me to reply within 24 hours if the problem was not resolved, so I did but I haven't heard anything yet.

Is anyone else getting ridiculously slow speeds?

I've been struggling to get more than 8kb/s for the past two days.
If this continues I think I'll have to cancel and go back to dial-up.

Hi pyrokinetix

Please PM me your details and I will have a specialist look into this for you.

@Mweb Ops. Do you know why I would have received the SMS. And how would they know if the problem is resolved, because they couldn't see a problem from the start?

Hi Bluink

We can only say for sure once Telkom has informed us that the issue has been resolved.

Okay thanks, but I still think I'm going to take my line back to Telkom on Monday. Btw, how long do you think that would take?

Hi Bluink

I am not 100% sure you will need to confirm this with Telkom.

With Mweb I could be wrong but AFAIK from comments made to me it was not possible. Cancel and re-apply was the way I had to do it. Was not Mweb but some other co.

Okay, this is getting ridiculous now.

My speeds have dropped to about 5kb/s average in the last few hours. WTF is this?
