Hi Wikus

I have confirmed with our billing department. Even though you pay via credit card there is still only one calendar month notice period.
What type of account did you apply for?

Regards
Mweb Operations

The basic uncapped account.

The support agent told me four months.

Maybe she meant one, or either the pronunciation was wrong or there's something wrong with my ears.

Good to hear it's only one.

Why is everyone complaining here instead of on the seacom forums at http://www.seacomblog.com/forum ,seacom doesnt read mybroadband so everyones complaints are falling on death ears, so why not try and be heard over at there own forum :)

So think of this as a call to arms on seacoms forum :)

Seems MWeb local is broken again. SSH and IMAPS appear to be filtered again. :(

I really don't see the problem here - even with all this so called down time I still have 88902.5 MB so far this month. That's 10GB+ per day so I am not complaining at all.
Amazing how well M-Web can handle a situation like these while small fry ISPs just cut users off.

Well - going by that - I'm paying over R100/GB .

I'm paying R6 per GB at the moment. I usually end up paying R1.66 per GB by the end of the month.

I have only been able to reach facebook and mybb - no other sites seem to be working or responding in good time, not even local sites since Monday....

I think a lot of mine are torrents - they just go local when Seacom goes funny - but they never stop.

Extract from here suggests that SEACOM is not obliged to provide any redundancy:

"A Seacom spokesperson told ITWeb that redundancy measures or alternative routes to get international bandwidth were the responsibility of the Internet service providers and that they should have plans in place."
