Okay. so my speed problem was a localized one. Checked my router and it showed that I was syncing at 800kb/s.
Restarted router and its back to 4096kb/s. Sorry mweb.

It's just we've gotten so used to the problem being your side I think a lot of us forgot to do our own diagnostics on our side.

No problem Tamakachi, apology accepted.

Modem speeds here off of Megaupload.

I understand this is a shaped service, but 1/10th my line speed on a weekend?

And for the record, not that it should matter, I am trying to download a perfectly legal file and it really irks me that this is essentially impossible, given the fact that a 700 meg file is going to take 57:04 hours and my line keeps dropping.

Everything seems to be running fine now,at last i have speeds up to 900kbps for regular downloads and speeds up to 400kbps for torrents.

Off the topic, whilst I wait for the bees to get off the Sharks field, congratulations on 20k posts :)

Just stopped. "cannot complete download".

Absolutely pathetic.

Slow speeds are one thing.

The inability to actually download is something else entirely.

Every single post in this thread in which I have ever had a problem has been ignored, except the one time when I was told 'torrents are fine, it's clearly a problem with your torrent', which in that case, may have been true although I am not sure, due to it occasionally reaching the thirties. That looks like shaping to me (and of course I understand and happily accept that it's a shaped account, just at the time of the complaint, I was getting 'speeds' of sub 5kB/s; which is just absurd).

In any case, my issue being WTF is the point of a feedback thread if ninety percent of the damn complaints get totally ignored?

Over it.

I think it's becoming increasingly obvious (though apparently to everyone but yourselves) that this is not a problem specific to one user, but your entire network. Since the "upgrade", normal browsing, http downloads (intl and local) and local peering and/or latency have all gone to hell, with zero confirmation from yourselves as to whether or not there actually IS a problem, or if we can expect things to improve. Unless of course MWEB has started throttling accounts per user based on some criteria, which is what you're checking with the supplied details, in which case I think MWEB should come clean sooner rather than later.

Getting scorching speeds on NNTP.Well done MWEB!

While I can't even connect, and torrents are being shaped to less than half. I love how MWeb picks and chooses which posts to respond to. Customer service. Hah.

Anyone else getting half their line speed on a 384 line in Durbz? I was blistering along (I use the term loosely when describing my 384 line:)) until about 12 today. Has not picked up since.
