Ah! So you have a 4mb line?

No no, that 100kb/s was via Vodacom 3G (still have 2GB with them for another 6 months, so use it when I need speed)

What app gives you those stats?

MWEB Ops, I've sent you my details via PM already with regards to this problem and never got an answer back, but will do so again.

Hi The YAk

Please send me your account details via private message and I will ensure you are assisted.

MWEB Guy

It leaves one with a warm fuzzy feeling seeing Mweb being responsive in these forums. But has anyone noticed that they don't offer any advice. Instead it's "PM me" and that's then forwarded to support. Genius.

Well now I officially have a problem with my line.... both Afrihost and MWEB are slow.

Anyone know who to call to have it looked at, I recon Telkom something or other.

Yup, Telkom is your only bet for that, unfortunately. Good luck and hope you get a useful Tech.

Is there a specific number for this sort of thing? besides general technical support

Not that I am aware of. That said, I actually found it more efficient to log a fault via the Telkom website, and have a Tech phone me, instead of going the call centre route. Only down side of that is you don't know when they will call you (could be a day or two), where as sticking it out and phoning the call centre, at least they can immediately test your line for obvious faults.

I was thinking that from the beginning. It still is very strange to me that they shape you on everything while the rest of us have OK speeds on most things most of the time.

Is this what you mean by the rest of us? This is from the last page.

Mine has been fine on other providers till last night - so unless your thinking only started last night - the problem with my MWEB connection still lies with MWEB - I need to get my other connections sorted.

Mweb very sluggish tonight..

Newsgroups about 40k and my surfing is very slow as well..

1st time I've ever seen utube shaped this bad on MWEB...'shaped' is the wrong word actually; more like 'obliterated'. Tested now again after shutting down everything else...streaming at <5k...pathetic.

At least I am not the only one! ranging from 0.3 - 1.2 kbps download atm. Youtube is UNUSABLE!

Well, MWEB is essentially offline for me tonight, a whopping 38kB/s on torrents... regular browsing stinks, F5 button is getting worn out. YouTube should consider getting a 'buffering game', like "Sudoku--While-Your-ISP-Gets-Its-Shyte-Together".

busy downloading sc2 patch 1.1.3 .speed is 50kb/s and not going faster.

Hey guys,
Over the past week or so my speeds have been rather slow, torrents and NZB's dont seem to go over 90kB/s. HTTP traffic also seems to be rather slow.

My connection also seems to randomly drop, I do not lose sync but I cannot connect to my account until I restart the router :/

*sigh* After about four or five emails, I STILL haven't heard anything from MWEB about sorting out my ridiculously slow "4 meg" line. It's more like dial up at the moment!

This little gem was sent to me via email: "Please be informed that we have forwarded your query to the department that is dealing with your query."

So... you are going to send me query to the people that are... dealing with it? How are they dealing with it if you haven't sent it? *headdesk*

Almost three weeks, that's how long I've been waiting for my connection to be fixed. And I'm getting VERY annoyed.

Same here dude,

Maybe we should stop paying until our problems are solved

Anyone else experiencing problems at the moment? My mweb 4m seems to be almost dead. Pages are taking 10 minutes to load. Can't even update steam it goes at 6kb/s then drops to 1 and the 0.

mweb has been as fast as usual for me, 350kbs+ at night (p2p)

filehosts have been a bit slower though, 250kbs in the day, usually 300+

dunno what was happening, seems better now. Was down for about an hour for me.

funny all these guys having issues, haven't had a moments downtime with mweb since the seacom issue, cant say the same for other isps i have used in the past.

Hi Osiris85

Please send me a private message with your MWEB account details in order for me to do the necessary investigation on my side.
