MWEB Uncapped Subscribers Feedback

I'm having problems to connect to certain sites. This is on FF and on IE. Has been going on for a while. Router has been reset, cache has been cleared. I'm on 512Mb uncapped.

Two that i can remember now are www.renault.com and www.cnn.com... Anything else I can try before I escalate this to MWEB?

Do you only experience this with .com sites?

I'm currently on the 512 uncapped, shaped package. What can I expect from the 384 uncapped, Unshaped package in comparison (for P2P use)? Any thoughts much appreciated.

There are many factors to consider when it comes to speed. I suggest that you rather try out the product and decide for yourself.

Thanks for escalating that problem report Mweb Operations.

@Pr⊕phet: I've posted 2 successful traceroutes from Mweb accounts that terminate in Johannesburg area, so this problem is just for people in Cape Town area (or whoever uses CINX / not JINX) :)

There is no try before you buy but billing is pro-rata so can give it a try and see if it works better for you.

00:23 & less than 10k combined total from newsgroups & torrents. Truly abysmal.
 
had rubbish speeds all weekend, especially http, torrents ran between 60kbs and 150kbs but when the clock struck 1am just now my torrents jumped from 64kbs to 420kbs in a split second!.... mweb need to improve their throttling system, did the network load magically decrease in that split second? incidentally just as the clock hit 01:00? what happened to "dynamic" shaping?

Hi MWEB Operations

Please let me know what you guys are doing about your cache servers caching broken files. I have given MWEB a lot of praise over the last few months so I would not suggest that you ignore me. You never know when that praise turns into something else... especially with a loose cannon like me.

At the risk of sounding like a teenager... MWEB SUX!!!! I've had horrific speeds this weekend, and to add insult to injury, my gmail is now operating at a glacial pace! I click send and have enough time to say a little prayer that the mail will actually go off, before it eventually does... Don't even get me started on youtube...I'm on the mono-syllable streaming plan.

I need to start looking at alternatives, never though it would come to this... any suggestions fellas?

Again I say... MWEB SUX!
