MWEB Uncapped Subscribers Feedback

Facebook and Gmail chat still aren't working for me. Everything else seems better though.
 
Get another ISP - like Afrihost...Very impressed, new signups get like 75% off for December and their 4Meg package is a little cheaper than MWEB

You will pay like 25% of R495
= R123.75 for 4Meg uncapped...I am very impressed with them, Torrent flying at 387kb/s, you tube 720p no streaming (Like MWEB was before)

MWEB is a great ISP, if they can sort out all the external factors/create a new shaping policy.

What is your current months usage with MWEB?

with afrihosts fair use policies you will be shaped to death before you know it, yes you are getting good speeds now but they wont last, i pull 350-450gb every month no problem on mweb without really trying, try that on afrihost and see how far you get.

Lol. Yeah. Everybody praises Afrihost the first copule of GB's... and then ba booom!! Shaped to hell and back. 5kb max on anything ever.
 
NNTP is just as bad lately, I am wasting my monthly subs for a paid news server by not being able to do much with the MWEB account. It is a great pity as it started off so nicely, but now this package has just about become useless for my purposes. For someone more into HTTP type stuff I guess it is still well worth it, but anything else, not so much.
 
Yeah I would like to make a complaint, my downloads were sluggish last night and at some point in the evening they picked up speed and I ran out of disk space :(

I wish I still had that problem...I used to when I started with them, but most mornings I am disappointed...

Last night was not to bad, Sunday night/ Monday morning was useless.

I RLY RLY RLY RLY would love to know how ppl download that much without bypassing shaping? Last night from about 11ish till this morning 9ish I put a dent of 1gig in my download using torrents now I know for a fact I get full speed on the torrent using a diff account

Mmmm, here is a novel thought for you; maybe they are actually downloading things that are not shaped? I know, I know, it sure does sound like rocket science to you but I am sure that for some people (like me) it is very possible.
 
There are a few file sharing sites that do not have shaping on them// and if you know how..even your news servers can be happy

Easy - use news servers. I got a good couple gig from midnight to 6am last night.
