Ye torrents are so handy but they're often the slower way to download. If you use file-hosting sites (rapidshare, filesonic, megaupload, megashares etc) you get pretty good speeds with Mweb uncapped. Now to find the files that these sites host you can use filestube.com or any of the hundreds of forums that are dedicated to collecting these links. Even a plain google search with the word rapidshare or hotfile (or whichever site works best) will get you links usually.
JDownloader is pretty essential as a download manager made for these sites.
I sometimes use a combination of torrents and file hosting sites as well. The problem with these sites is that some of them require you to put in a captcha code for every download.
Cool thanks. The only problem is those sites usually take you on an eye popping roller coaster ride that almost always ends up in some crappy javascript animation that pretends to get your download link only to throw you onto the worst kind of technicolor unicorn puked up little site... and then asks you to pay.... aargh .. now wonder I started using torrents, forgot how awful finding files on HTTP sites can be :wtf:
