MWEB Uncapped Subscribers Feedback

Ye torrents are so handy but they're often the slower way to download. If you use file-hosting sites (rapidshare, filesonic, megaupload, megashares etc) you get pretty good speeds with Mweb uncapped. Now to find the files that these sites host you can use filestube.com or any of the hundreds of forums that are dedicated to collecting these links. Even a plain google search with the word rapidshare or hotfile (or whichever site works best) will get you links usually.

JDownloader is pretty essential as a download manager made for these sites.

I sometimes use a combination of torrents and file hosting sites as well. The problem with these sites is that some of them require you to put in a captcha code for every download.

Cool thanks. The only problem is those sites usually take you on an eye popping roller coaster ride that almost always ends up in some crappy javascript animation that pretends to get your download link only to throw you onto the worst kind of technicolor unicorn puked up little site... and then asks you to pay.... aargh .. now wonder I started using torrents, forgot how awful finding files on HTTP sites can be :wtf:

Well you'll find some terrible sites for sure, but there are tons that are perfectly legit (all the ones I mentioned) and you can ignore the sites themselves completely by using JDownloader. It does everything for you so you literally just copy the link and it downloads unless you have to put in a captcha. Searching with filestube.com also lets you chose which sites to find the links from, some are faster than others. Filesonic, rapidshare, megashares and fileserve are usually pretty fast. Megaupload used to go full line speed pretty often but got cut back.. might still be fast.

You need to give at least 30 days (calendar month) notice. If you cancel tomorrow you'll get removed at the end of February.

This is not true, I cancelled my account 4Jan and they said, oh do I want it cancelled end of Jan or Feb?

(So far I'm on a Axxess Uncapped 4Mb and it is terible to have such an account as opposed to the M-Web 384kbps account, read my other rants in the Axxess thread)

I'm considering cancelling my cancellation...

EDIT: Sorry for the bad sentence start, I could rather have said: "On the contrary..." an not "This is not true.." a.k.a. "Your a liar and stupid.."

That's what I did after reading some threads about the alternatives out there. Changed to a 384 unshaped (fits my budget for now) and my problems are gone. Granted more speed would be nice, but my wallet won't be to happy with that. So I happily settled on a dependable constant slow speed rather than erratic faster speed.

When I cancelled mid month I had to wait 45 days. You sure or are you mistaken?

Ok, maybe I'm wrong, how does this sound to you?

Thank you for taking the time to contact us.

We confirm that your account has been scheduled to cancel on the 31st January 2011, hence a calander's month notice period that is required.

Kindly note that the advance billing for February 2011, will only be reversed once account has been cancelled.

Please contact us should you need any further assistance.

I normally pay the last day of the month...

Oh, now I see, they mean, the cancellation will be "created" on the end of the month, so that the account will run to the end of next month and then stop. But at end of Feb they will still bill me and reverse that later.

My problems still happening.. During the day ALL HTTP is "shaped" for me.. Can only get 250KB/s tried numerous websites to test the speed. http://www.thinkbroadband.com/download.html It goes to ~450KB/s then just drops down to 250KB/s and never goes higher.. Yes this is with a download manager. I connect to telkom, instant full speed and stays like that. Then with my mweb account it can go my max speed at night at like 11pm. So am are all HTTP shaped for me or what?
