Thank you MWeb Operations for responding to my request. Like most people on here, I don't bother reading all the fine print on your contracts before signing up. If however I do overstep my rights according to your usage policies, I'd be glad to re-evaluate my sign-up decision and make the correct choice based on real-time feedback. I'm sure you guys are always trying improve your service given the limited parameters of the current situation of internet bandwidth allocation in SA, if in future I overstep the boundaries I'd be happy to re-evaluate my current usage policies ACCORDING TO YOUR FAIR USAGE POLICY. But please, let me know if there's a problem. As a customer the most detrimental effect is created by enforcing policies that are not communicated effectively in a fair timespan. If however my situation is caused purely by a technical problem then I'm more than happy to report my current situation as part of your ongoing effort to improve your service.
 
for me too, died last night close to midnight

restarted my router, started up newsbin, got the error [07:46:59] Level: ERROR MODULE=Socket, MSG=Error: WSARecv Socket Error Code: 0:859

Hi Adrenalin, I have checked on my side and I am also having trouble connectin to the news server today. I have escalated this to the relevant guys.

Browsing is very slow at the moment (Saturday morning). Particularly international sites. Some sites are just timing out. :(

Hi SabreWolfy, we are not experiencing any issues with international browsing. I will look into this for you.

It seems erratic; last.fm (and some other sites) took AGES too load, and I had to refresh a few times. Now that I'm logged into last.fm, it's streaming fine, so maybe there is no problem :)

I am also experiencing browsing issues. Downloads comes down @450Kb/s but with no downloads running I can't browse any sites without heavy delay.

Since news server connectted again I've seen parts seemingly randomly fail to donwload, choosing retry on the file makes it download the missing parts but still this cant be good

If you're syncing at 64kb then that's the problem, the ISP has nothing to do with how fast you sync, that's purely telkom. You don't get punished for downloading either.
