I've been streaming last.fm for the last 30 minutes. It stopped a few minutes ago and won't start again. :(

Update:
A hard-refresh on the page now results in it getting stuck in a half-loaded state for a few minutes. Still can't stream after it loads. Other international sites (BBC, Sky) load fine, if a bit slowly.

Update:
Streaming from last.fm working now. Browsing is up and down like a yo-yo today. Maybe a problem at last.fm...

Browsing, etc. is OK (edit: somewhat better) now it seems. On my router, "Obtain DNS automatically" is enabled. Then there are two boxes with 196.28.75.200 and 196.28.75.210 in them. MWEB Billion router.

Has your exchange been upgraded recently? check your sync speeds.....
 
Mweb Downloads Hotfile, Rapidshare, Filesonic are currently dead

I'm not able to download from any of these sites at all at present - neither from MWEB or IS ADSL (though have canned IS just waiting for notice period to end). IS have had this problem for the last 2 weeks or so, but today it's finally hit MWEB. Doesn't matter whether I use a download manager or just follow the link to these sites and download with HTTP.

I can upload a file to rapidshare for example, but then struggle to download that same file using the download link rapidshare gives me.

I'm in Randburg.
 
hmmm may be a Randburg problem then, I'm in the North Riding area

@ heretic, everyone else's pings werefine, but browsing is also veeeeeery sllooowww for me.
 
mmm weird just fired a 400mb file from filesonic, running 100kbs, got 100kbs torrents running as well.

@fivelza yeah let him check it out, maybe could be bad line or something

Thanks mate, was fine last night playing SC2 online, seems to be a recent problem, but with all the rain who knows ;)

True, but considering I've had issue with their service deteriorating since mid-Dec (with correspondence all the while) that they would assign some sort of priority to my case since it has now reached the point of <1kb/s NNTP speeds all day, every day.
 
Torrents ok - but that's about all

Browsing is fine, and torrents ok (200kB/s), but downloads from Filesonic, Rapidshare, Hotfile still not working.

If I was a conspiracy theorist, I would say that Big brother is installing new machinery / systems to keep an eye on us, and the reason that internet in SA has been crappy since the end of Dec, is because they're still working on it.
In reality, they are so inept, they wouldn't know where to start...............
