Greggmcc ... that seems to be the new norm with Mweb... I have had those speeds since I got back from holiday in January.

Please provide us with a traceroute to the site you are downloading from to assist us with our investigation.

I have tested your line and the readings are good.

Can you please provide us a speedtest in order for us to investigate why you are experiencing slow speeds.

Mweb, I used to get around 50KB/s during the day on torrents, now on the otherhand, I have problems maintaining 10KB/s let alone 20!I agree with shaping, but this is basically unusable during the day, is anything happening to add more bandwidth again? Or are we going to be stuck like this for awhile?(Just would like to know if this is giong to be the norm for awhile or not)

To answer your question regarding bandwidth, I can't give you a specific date but as our customer base grows, we do add more bandwidth.

We endeavour to be the best ISP in SA and are continually looking at ways to improve our customers experience.

i take it your torrenting?

cause i easy get 300kbs+ with http theards, hotfile,rapid,fileservce,bitshare etc

all free accounts, duckload seems insane slow with free account though :(

1) bt is getting slower and slower during off peak. (Sat Ave 2M, Sun ave 1M, Mon, ave 512k) [before 4M full speed]
2) download (max 1M since last week) or web browsing (not stable, always "freeze", need to refresh) [before 4M full speed]
3) line is fine
4) speed test is fine

I don't know how that happened but it happened. :(
any suggustion?

Hi DreamKing

If you are browsing while torrents are running, please browse without running torrents and see if your browsing improves. We need to know in order for us to troubleshoot thoroughly from our end.

Hi Mweb OP,

Why does running torrents seem to adversely effect everything else? Even if I run a torrent at 1kb/s during the day, it makes everything slow. Latency on some ports skyrocket.

Hi Mike

Please note that you will not be able to route to cpt.news or jhb.news, you will have to use news.mweb and we will route you to the closest server.
