Can Mweb Ops please explain the below results to me? The ping to the Durban server is terrible (I am in Durban). These results are consistant over many weeks of testing.

Durban test server (Vodacom)

Joburg test server (CellC)

Cape Town test server (Vodacom)

Guess I'll have to wait until morning,if it's still not right then i'll phone mweb and telkom and see who's fault it is and if i that doesn't work then i'll switch to another ISP.

maybe the internet will be better in capetown next year.

Connection is HORRID tonight. I haven't been able to get into WoW the whole night, kept getting disconnected, and my 17.5 meg iTunes download has timed out so many times I lost count. *sigh*

Mine as well. Took a couple of minutes just to load this page.

Getting ridiculous now, can't even stream Youtube clip. Web pages timeout etc? This is getting worse!

Hi TheYak

Please advise whether you are still experiencing disconnections.

I don't usually complain as any previous problems I've had with Mweb seem to sort themselves out after a day. But for the past 3 days my internet has been terribly slow and http downloads keep timing out.

going to drop you a little known fact here it seems... check your area and compare it to those who get full line speed. no rocket science needed to deduct where the *** speeds are currently, be it due to infrastructure, telkom or both. well imho i would say that that has everything to do with it.

Yes but that doesn't explain why I go full speed as soon as I change to another a/c.

Out of interest, who handles the PPPoE Connection.your ISP (mweb) or your telephone/line company (telkom)?

Telkom terminates them on their ESR's, then carry the IP traffic to the ISP over IP Connect. When authenticating they send the authentication request to the ISP's RADIUS server.

Sooooooo what you're saying iiiiis if we give Telkom a cookie they'll make the internet betters for us? o.O

Just wondering,my internet has been slow since yesterday and was off for a while.while it was off my router gave an error message at PPPoE.didn't write it down but i'm sure telkom messed with my internet.
