MWEB Uncapped Subscribers Feedback

Hi Everyone

Just to confirm that we are aware that some of our customers are experiencing some speed issues at the moment. Our engineers are investigating all possible causes for this however at this stage we have not found any conclusive evidence that the problem resides on our network. We have escalated the matter to Telkom and our upstream partners and will update you as soon as we have a better understanding of what might be causing this.

Thanks for your patience
Will

The problem is definitely on a larger scale but is no less immensely frustrating.

Both my Mweb account AND backup xDSL account (which is SAIX) are running horrendously today.

I seriously think that MWEB CEO should address these issues with SEACOM / upstream provider - if they cannot provide a stable service - then I would not want to use that service !.

Yes your tough crowd in most cases is the business user and the gamer, and you will be first in the line of fire when your connection fades (NOT SEACOM but YOU !).

Fact is, I am both of the above, I operate on some overseas database and webservers over RDP (transfer a lot of files over SFTP to / from them) this is alot of data (hence my uncapped choice)

Im an avid gamer, and when MWEB dies my gaming time gets cut (I play mostly overseas MMO's)
Sure I can go to another ISP, or get another prepaid account, but this becomes costly - and irritating to say the least.

My manager has suggested investigate a move to MWEB for our bonded lines, and that I should check feasibility. As it stands now, I cannot make that recommendation, as we require stability.
Not the case at the moment unfortunately..

Do you have an ETA on WACS usage ?

Doubt WACS will fix anything... seems to be more PEBCAK @ MWEB than anythnig else...

From my side -

My other accounts have no problems (IS and SAIX). I cannot play MC on the London server I usually play on. My downloads from the net average at 100kbps while my downloads using the news server average 0. My streaming of music and videos is awful. I have noticed that most CT customers are not affected .... I have noticed that most of us affected are outside of CT. It has been like this for at least 3 days now. Getting a better understanding from your upstream providers should have been done already, instead, it was treated as just some crazy customers moaning.

That is all.
