My connection is also back to "almost working" to "non-working" - some international site are down again.
:(

If they keep this up they will be worst isp of the year. Im starting to look for a new one now. This is not working for me any longer.

At about 8pm my newshost downloads jumped to full speed (38-40 kB/s) for a minute or two. Now it's sitting at around 10-12 kB/s. Don't know if int. was up or not at the time I was geting full speed as I didn't check.

How is this going to help us now? Yet more downtime.

We experienced another small outage on the traffic manager which has been the cause the dips in International traffic over the last few days. Our engineers are on hand and they are doing everything they can to resolve the matter without further incident. I understand that everyone is very frustrated right now, trust me it's frustrating for us too.
Ultimately getting this equipment in place is a very positive step in terms of being able to manage assurance levels on traffic and provide everyone with a great experience.
It's extremely unfortunate that we've had these teething problems with the new equipment, but I'm confident the guys will have it sorted very soon.

Blah Blah Blah.... thats all I'v heard. This is beyond ridiculous now Mweb. I'm not paying you R539 p/m for you to sort out your equipment and "teething problems". I am paying you for a reliable connection. If you cannot provide even that, then tell me and I will move somewhere else.

It's a very minor disruption Bar Rat, some routine maintenance on the load balanced mail stores which will result in your mailbox being unavailable for between 10-15 minutes sometime between 00h00 and 06h00.

@lucifir these are two seperate issues. We installed some new equipment at our London point of presence last week which has had some initial problems. These resulted in some short partial losses of international service over the last few days (lasting, between 5-10 minutes) while backup links kicked in. Work is being done as we speak which we hope will rectify this situation for good and get us back on track.

Over and above this we have recieved a number of complaints about slow speeds over the last two days, not specifically related to International traffic and up to this point we have not been able to isolate a cause for this, or confirm that the problem is originating on the MWEB network, or is in fact isolated to MWEB customers.

Our engineers are continuing to search for any possible problems that might be causing this and we have escalated the matter to our connectivity partners, including Telkom to ask them to carry out a full investigation on their side as well.

Will, how long has this traffic manager been in place?

Will, about the international , I can confirm for you that:

1. Eve is totally inaccesable
2. BC2 drops due to loss of EA connection while local pings are sub 30.
3. International sites are either slow or unable to load.

On the other hand all local traffic is fine so it's definately something on your international leg.

*Edit* Durban based fyi if that helps.
