I have to say good job on the prioritization to our boys, I was actually logged in at the time and even with the sudden influx of traffic on Sat3 my WoW latency didn't increase.

You're not the only one Sillicur. My speed was also normal until last week (perhaps just before the Royal Wedding) but since then, speeds during the day are useless (about 14 - 28kbps) on the 384kbps line.
M-Web claims I'm receiving about 350kbps but that is nothing but a lie. I want to know exactly why the speed has been compromised in the last week or so but yet is perfectly fine in the early hours of the morning.
 
Can you guys do something about Black Ops. I'm having a pain trying to play it. I'm feeling like just screwing black ops and never play it again thanks to MWEB. I'm having LAG and disconnections etc all the time.

Was busy playing a clannie and the game disconnected . I'm not going to enter the next NGL league cause of this. Please fix it already or try find somewhere else to host it.

I think it's got to do with Telkom bumping 512k users to 1mb and then lowering 10mb users to 6mb. Their equipment can't handle it. And AFAIK the 384k and 512k DSLAM was shared (if you were 1mb or higher it was on a different set of DSLAM's)

My guess is they increased the speed on the old DSLAM's which is running both 384 and (the new) 1mb and now people are suffering.

Speed is still crap FYI, I just hope I can get my work done and go to bed before 2am...

:p What you on about, I was going to show you the problem. International was down and now Mweb Will (thanks) confirmed it. Afrihost International only blipped and is still fine.

It was not required for the other brethren to swear at Mweb. Not their fault as we now know.

As for my screenshots I may post them whenever I feel fit, as such please do not get the fits.

wow is not even hosted by mweb but ja Black ops is not working. Please leave the wow and work on Black ops. I want to play the game for one night at least without any issues. Black ops is hosted by mweb and no one working there even knows it. Please can you make everyone that works for mweb aware that Black ops is hosted by MWEB. Steam also not working here. Please begging you get a more reliable connection for Black ops servers
 
Ok it seems that the fault has been confirmed as being on the Seacom side, potentially relating back to a Link between London and Marseille. Seacom is busy investigating, unfortunately I don't have an ETR at this time. (and before someone asks no I'm not entirely sure why we're affected by a link between London and Marsielles, but I will definitely try and get that explanation in the morning).

And black ops, Steam. Can you make that work for us. Keep on getting high pings since Friday. Ping is good but sometimes I loose my connection or my game lags
 
Why is no one responding to my Black ops query. Feel like MWEB should have never been the persons who hosted Black ops. What an EPIC fail
 
Ahhhh, that explains it. I was playing Ultima Online on Atlantica (US West I think?) and all of a sudden MASSIVE LAG.

Nelis I checked Black Ops extensively over the weekend and didn't have any issues. I don't know if you saw my post earlier this evening but I checked it again this evening and it plays fine. I know that you've been back and forth with my team for ages with these issues that come and go with your latency going crazy and the line dropping and believe me I know how frustrating it is as I went through similar issues with my line last year. I will definitely be spending some time in the morning to see what else I can get done regarding your situation and I give you my word that I will personally check the performance on Black Ops on a regular basis over the next few weeks and if I encounter and performance related issues I will make sure they get addressed. If there are any particular servers that you play on regularly please PM them to me so I know which ones to check on.

ok then what is your nickname and add me on steam DiceAir554. Can you test again. I want proof please. MWEB always telling us everything is fine when it is not. Everything is always perfect on your side. I think you need to come and see for yourself.

You will get a heart attack if you see all the issues I'm experiencing. I'm sommer taking a video and posting on youtube. I got the feeling that MWEB employees get better connections than us for home use. I can't even log into steam now. This is bs. I feel sommer like going to another country just for better internet. This is unacceptable. maybe taking this thing to carte blanche will sort things out

Sounds like it could be a problem between him and the Telkom exchange. Every-so-often I get frequent disconnects (connection to MWEB holds up, but the line just drops) which causes lag/timeouts. Our phone has the old school metal-prong type connector still, so there's accumulation of particles on the connections which you have to clean off (causes a crap load of noise for the ADSL, even the voice line). However, noise on the line can be temporary (enough so that you nor Telkom can really see an issue) and can be very frustrating.

Maybe because some of us are working (I work US timezone as most of my clients are there) and having someone bitch and moan about a game they can't play vs me generating an income trying to feed my kids is kind of frivolous. Now, do yourself a favor and keep an eye on your router's signal-to-noise-ratio and line attenuation. I'm willing to bet cold-hard-cash it's a noise issue on your line and not an MWEB issue
