21:12 Durban, Amanzimtoti Mweb account just started picking up speed 15kb.

Make those mice run faster please :)
 
I've got my 384K maxed on MWEB news at the moment, 45KB/s or so. As I mentioned in the past (but no-one probably cared about or remembers) I'm running a 384K account on a 2Mbps sync, which allows more speed than I remember ever getting on a 384K line.
 
It's just after 3am and I am getting full line speed on an HTTP download. Much different compared to 20kB/s at 3pm.

I'll check again later on today to see if the speed is the same or has dropped again though.


On a down side my mail wont send, but I'll try again later.
 
at one stage last night I was getting finally speeds up to just over 40kbps connecting to the news servers, then snail speed this morning, no consistency, think I should revert back to 512 account,
was getting better speeds than the 1mb account, that unless there is an issue over there as well....
international seems to be good, but local sucks why??? guess telkom still holds the monopoly... local should be way faster than international, think we going backwards

Doubt he's the account holder so has no choice but to use it. Daddy does not want to change isp because he browses perfectly fine. ;)


@ WIll, Torrents and nntp runs acceptable when I do use it. Wow latencies is poor until up to a certain time of night. Round about 09:30 last night speeds improved drastically but with wtfast it's still unplayable. I'll check if I can get Netlimiter to provide me with a connection log? Would something like that help?
 
Most people are still having problems. I myself seem to be fine though. 350 kb/s torrents. and 280 ms in wow. although i was having a few spikes and PTR raiding is impossible. 500 ms is unplayable.
 
It seems like mweb has done something right, for the first time in 11 days I'm getting full speed on http downloads! YAY!!
 
Alright, seriously scary stuff, I'm getting great speed on NNTP as well, between 35-38kb/s on a 384kbps line
 
Nice one, think I'll switch back to Mweb account then :P Afrihost atm.
 
MWeb Guy, could you please help me? I've spoken to Telkom so many times about my problem but they deny that there is a fault. My international has been slow and most times non existent. I've been unable to load Gmail, YouTube and a number of Shockwave or Flash plug ins. I can't even get Windows Update or AVG to update.

Spoke to soon, NNTP going now at 27-30kbps, speed is dropping, well it's still better than 10kb/s
