I guess Mweb has now decided to totally limit and non prioritize any NNTP traffic to any kind of international Usenet severs including your own servers.
Running at a nice 2kb 24/7 for the last week.

Most of the regular NNTP posters here have noted NNTP flying this weekend. Right now i'm averaging 350KB/s , for the first time in over a month it's working as it use too....

Nope, they do not. There may be many reasons influencing your connection. Recently there was many problems and issues, that seems to be improving but NNTP is still a grey area is seems.
That is the "cycle" thing I was referring to when I had grave issues recently. Now its better and I have done nothing but since yesterday that shaping cycling are back again.

Nice is that a uncapped account or what. Maybe I should just drop my mweb and go for the webafrica accounts or even Telkom is better at this stage. I think Telkom is giving us outstanding service. It's just MWEB thats cause them a lot of troubles and even the technician that was here when I told him I was with MWEB he was not very happy to hear that. he was like ja MWEB again. they are giving us a lot of troubles and he was on his way. Like I said before if mweb just fix there issues the internet in south africa will be growing like so fast. You won't be able to keep up.

Every time I think of switching to MWeb I see stuff like this. Geez it's either caps or crap performance and I don't know which to choose

In case this helps solve anyone's issues with the CT news.mweb.co.za: try flush the dns cache and make sure your client is using the MWEB DNS servers. NNTP on that server now at full tilt for me.

Getting 800 ping to mweb.co.za :/
Tried to log on mweb. Connected to news.mweb.co.za on a cached item. 20-22kb/s at 7pm on a sunday, come one, i understand business time shaping but 7pm sunday? It was always good during the weekend. Now stuff is being shaped during the weekend too.
Will / Mweb Guy whats up? U 2 know its not my line or even the routing or w/e because mweb unshaped goes full speed. So I would just like to know why I am getting half speed Sunday evening. I am pretty sure that the network load isnt that huge compared to business hours during the week.
